The last few weeks before Christmas flew by quickly, Albus immersed himself into his schoolwork to distract himself from the lack of communication from his parents. He had chosen not to reply to his mother's howler, letting them know through his silence that he was not going to back down on this no matter their opinions.
Before too long the last day of school came and he was left to pack up his things not knowing whether he would be welcomed home.
Lying on his and Gellert's shared bed in the Slytherin dorm he watched his boyfriend pack up.
"We can stay at your aunts this holiday right? I don't want to do Christmas here alone."
Gellert paused in his packing and quickly bounced over to the bed, cradling Albus' face gently in his hands so he could lightly kiss his boyfriend's nose.
"No way would I be letting you stay here alone. Besides, you know my aunt loves you, she will be delighted to have you over."
Albus smiled sappily and rested his chin back on his arms as Gellert returned to packing.
"I'll drop you off at the Gryffindor common room later and you can pack up too." Gellert called over his shoulder.
Albus sighed and nodded, "Yeah there isn't much to tidy up, most of my stuff is here now. I'll get Soph or Stell to hang out with me whilst I do it to avoid any unwanted attention from Nicolas."
Gellert pouted as he folded his spare robes, "I can come in and help."
Albus shook his head, "No, I don't want to risk you getting hurt again. Besides, Nicolas won't bother them, but he would definitely try to start a fight with you. I don't want you getting expelled because of me."
Gellert threw the last of his things into the top of the trunk and waved his wand, the lid shutting with a bang as he sat down besides Albus, the Gryffindor scrambling upright to lean against his boyfriend.
"I would be very content to be expelled for defending your honour." Gellert said seriously.
"I know you would." Albus said with a chuckle, "But I wouldn't be able to live with that so you can walk me over and wait outside if you absolutely have to."
Gellert nodded resolutely, "Any sign of trouble I'm breaking in."
Albus laughed, leaning his head down onto Gellert's shoulder, "How about I just tell you the password and if necessary you can use it."
Gellert nodded victoriously and the couple sat in a comfortable silence for a couple of minutes before Albus sighed and stretched.
"Come on, we should really be getting going now. I want to pack up before dinner tonight so I can bring my trunk back here."
Gellert nodded and stood up, holding a hand out for Albus. The Gryffindor took it with a soft smile, and they walked out of the dorm together.
Cassie and Hannah glanced up from where they were sat on the sofa together as the couple walked into the common room.
"Where are you guys going?" Hannah asked softly.
"Back to the Gryffindor Tower so I can pack up my stuff." Albus answered.
"Where's Viktor?" Gellert asked, glancing around for the other boy.
Cassie giggled softly, "Over in the Hufflepuff Common Room of course! He visits Jayce whenever he can these days."
Albus grinned and nudged Gellert lightly, the Slytherin rolling his eyes, "Sappy."
"Like you pair are any better." Cassie snarked back, standing up.
