Ruby's POV

"Harry! You told me you riddled out that egg weeks ago! The task is two days from now!" I hear Hermione say as I walk up to the two.

"Really? I had no idea." Harry replies, voice heavy with sarcasm. Hermione rolls her eyes and turns to me when she notices my sudden appearance.

"What's about you? Have you not figured it out either?" She asks.

I shake my head, "Nope. I have no idea what I am doing with that egg. I've spent hours listening to it screech in my ear and the only thing that came out of it was me nearly going deaf." I sigh. Honestly, it's frustrating not knowing what I am supposed to do. The task is in only a few days and neither Harry or myself are prepared.

"I suppose Viktor's figured it out." Harry grumbled. He is probably just as irritated as I am about the while situation.

"I wouldn't know. We don't actually talk about the Tournament. Actually, we don't really talk at all. Viktor's more of a physical being. I mean, he's not particularly loquacious. Mostly he just watches me study. Bit annoying actually." Hermione explains.

"Wait, he just stares at you while you study? That's what you do with your time together?" I ask.

"Pretty much." She shrugs, before turning her attention to Harry once again. "Harry, you are trying to ridfle out thr egg, aren't you?"

"What's that supposed to mean?" He asks.

"I just mean, these tasks, they're designed to test you. They're designed to test you in the most brutal way. They're almost cruel and, well, I'm scared for you. For both of you. You got by the dragons mostly on nerve and I'm not sure that would be enough this time." Hermione explains.

Harry and I are stood in silence. If we didn't truley understand the situation before, we do now. We barley managed to survive the first task. The second task is supposed to be much more difficult and dangerous than the dragons. Which worries me. What could be more dangerous than dragons.

"Hey, Potter! Denbrough!" We hear, drawing us out of the our thoughts. We turn and see Cedric seperating from Cho and making his way over to us. Hermione gives us one last look before leaving.

"How are you?" Cedric asks once he is in front of us.

"Spectacular." Harry replies as I just shrug, not really knowing how to respond at the moment.

"Look, I realize I never properly thanked you two for tipping me of about those dragons." Cedric starts.

"Forget it. I'm sure you'd have done the same-" Harry replies.

"Exactly." Cedric interrupts. "You two know Prefects bathroom on the fifth floor? It's not a bad place for a bath." Cedric says.

Harry and I don't respond as we just look at him weirdly. He just nods and walks back to Cho. I glance at Harry with a looks that says 'what just happened'. He just shrugs, looking just as confused as I am.

✨Time skip ✨

Harry and I decided to take what Cedric said as hint. I really doubt he was casually mentioning a great bathing spot without a reason.

We went to the Prefects bathroom together, both of us wearing clothes that we don't mind getting wet seeing as we dont really have bathing suits with us.

We figure out how to work the giant bath tub and fill it as much as possible. I sit on the edge of the tub with my feet in the water while holding mine and Harry's golden egg, watching as different colored water spills out of each tab.
