Ruby's POV

The last couple weeks have been busy. With all the work and homework giving so generously to us by our loving Professors. The only thing that was keeping most of the students going was knowing that there was a Hogsmeade trip coming up. Which I was excited to go to too.

That was before I found out Harry's guardians had not signed his permission slip. So now I'm standing next to him, waiting to see if he can manage to convince McGonagall to sign. Harry walks up to her, but she speaks to him before he can utter a single word.

"No permission from. No visiting the Village. That's the rule, Potter." She says.

"Yes, Professor, but I thought if you signed I could go-" Harry says before McGonagall interrupt him.

"But I don't say so. A parent or guardian must sign, and since I am neither it would be inappropriate." She says. "I'm sorry Potter. But that's my final word." She says with some pity.

I sigh and watch as Harry turns to Hermione and Ron, who were waiting expectantly from across the way. He shakes his head and their faces fall. They start to go and Harry raises his hand in farewell. He turns to me.

"You should go. I don't want you staying because of me." Harry says. I snort and grab his arm and drag him along with me for a walk.

"Like hell I'm leaving you alone with the way your luck has been. With the way the last two years have gone, I wouldn't be surprised if you got kidnapped by a Bowtrickle." I tease and he playfully glares at me. "Besides, I don't really feel going right now. I want to take this day to chill and not spend all my money in one trip." I finish.

He laughs and we make our way through the grounds. We end up on a bridge and look at the amazing view that is Hogwarts.

"So. No Hogsmeade, eh?" I hear a voice ask us andI turn around and see Lupin walking towards us. I smile at him and reply.

"Eh. Didn't feel like it. Plus four eyes over here didn't get his permission slip signed." I tease, trying to cheer him up. Harry glares at me with a small smile while Lupin looks at me amused. Mission accomplished- ish.

"Well, don't feel too bad. I was roundly disappointed the first time I went." Lupin says unconvincingly. I just look at him with a doubtful look and Harry speaks up.

"Really?" He asked. Just as doubtful and unconvinced as I. Lupin looks at us and realizes we weren't convinced.

"No. I was just trying to make you feel better. Honeydukes' are the best sweets in the world. Their Pepper Umps are so strong you smoke at the ears. And Zonko's Joke shop may be dangerous, but you can't beat their stink pellets." Lupin says.

"Not ti mention the Shrieking Shack, which, according to Hermione, is the most severely haunted building in Britain." Harry adds.

"Yes that too..." Lupin says. We stare at the view in silence, until I speak up.

"Smoke at the ears? Like in cartoons? Is that even possible? Is that supposed to happen? That sounds like a health problem. The things Wizards come up with, man." I say in astonishment and confusion. That does not sound safe at all. But I guess half the stuff in the wizarding world is not safe in the muggles point of view. Lupin and Harry laugh and look at me with amused looks.

Harry glances at me with a look that tells me he wants to speak to Lupin in private. I nod and make up some lame excuse to leave them alone.

"Oh crap! I think I have some Transfiguration homework I still need to get done. I better go do that." I say somewhat awkwardly. I quickly turn and walk away. My acting skills could have been better. But it wasn't a life or death moment so I don't really care.
