you could see almost everyone from school chilling at the fair. it was the prom replacement. elijah and denis recognized almost everybody in the crowd, for them it was infuriating to see the same people who hated their relationship be at the fair, the place they came to ignore the negatives of life and have fun

"i guess everyone is celebrating prom here instead." elijah said.

denis scoffed, "they're getting pregnant here instead too." he pointed at the familiar classmates making out by the popcorn stall.

"forgot about the horny kids, let's get food." denis said and elijah followed.

they made their way to the cotton candy stall, they stood 6 feet away from it as they had spotted someone they recognized, it was kate.

"i think that's the 'mother' of your child." elijah made a sarcastic remark.

denis came here to forget about the terrible school drama but it wouldn't him alone. they both wanted cotton candy but an unsolicited conversation with kate came with it.

"let's get popcorn instead!" denis suggested.

elijah gasped, "we're not gonna be scared of her denis!! if we want cotton candy, we're gonna get cotton candy and no hill billy bitch is gonna stop us." elijah had officially been angered.

denis tried to say something but elijah was far gone, he ordered two cotton candies and stood next to kate while eyeing her down as if he was the ursula to her little mermaid.

"just because you're decent at contouring doesn't mean you're kate moss." elijah said to her.

denis quickly stood in between the two, he knew things would only worsen if elijah picked on kate. 

"thanks, elijah." she smiled awkwardly. 

after a short pause she uttered, "i'm sorry for bothering you guys. if i'm being honest you two are cutest couple in school!!'

denis and elijah shared a look. they wondered if she was on drugs. they were very skeptical of her so they just nodded in agreement to her statement.

"i am glad you guys are still together!! i am very happy." she cheered them on.

"thanks!" denis finally replied with words, the blonde boy next to him only gave kate funny looks. he was convinced that she was on something.

"you know what would make me even happier?? if you guys hugged or maybe.......kissed!!" she had a huge smile on her face.

denises smile of formality faded as he heard that, kate had been an odd girl since day one but today she outdid herself.

"do you get off when two guys make out or something?" elijah folded his arms.

then denis had an epiphany, he heard a sound coming from behind kate. he looked over there to find noah, charlie and nathan hiding behind the bushes. charlie was holding a camera in their direction.

"the assholes are here!!" elijah yelled. that's what they called denises old friends, The Assholes™

"oops." said kate then she proceeded to walk away.

eijah's patience kept getting tested, "let's go confront these motherfuckers!!" he followed behind them but denis stopped him.

"no! we're here to spend time with each other, we can't waste our time chasing after The Assholes™, come with me!" denis said and took elijah for a ride. they also collected their cotton candy.
