Upon arriving back at the castle, Link immediately stumbled over. Luckily for him, though, your reflexes caused you to catch him without thinking. Link's eyes began to droop closed, and you realised how exhausted he must be.
"Link? Link, can you walk?" you asked, hauling one of his arms over your shoulder and holding his hand with your own. He didn't reply; just nodding and murmuring something, yet you did not believe he could walk on his own at all.
You struggling down the hallway, practically dragging the blonde Hylian and nearly dropping him several times. At last, you reached the hospital area, where you could find someone to look for what was wrong. After a few moments, they concluded that the journey, fight, and blood loss from his arm had caused some kind of fatigue, and bandaged up the wound.
As he rested, you headed into a bathroom, cleansing your hands of the dirt and blood that had accumulated on them over the past few hours. After finishing, you glanced into the mirror, then decided cleaning your face wouldn't hurt either. Someone knocked on the door, and you called out, "It's open!"
Lisa's head poked around the door, and she smiled. "Princess, it's good to see you! I heard you were back from Gerudo Town, and I've prepared a fresh set of clothes. They're on your bed."
You nodded, and smiled in return. "Thank you, Lisa. It's nice to see you too." She bowed her head, and disappeared back around the door, closing it gently as she left. Still smiling to yourself, you headed to your room and changed into the clean outfit laid on your bed.
Deciding you should go and check on Link, you headed back to the hospital area, and were delighted to see that he was now awake, walking around as if he was completely fine. You strode up to him, giving the Hylian a large hug.
"Oh, Link, I'm so glad you're okay," you whispered, holding him tight and placing your head onto his shoulder. The knight hugged you tightly too, and then pulled away, clearing his throat.
"C'mon, it's gonna take more than a little scrape to hurt me," he chuckled, rolling his eyes. The pair of you began to walk down the corridors, with no goal in mind, and you only spoke once you were out of earshot from everyone else.
"I don't think that your fatigue was really caused by what the doctors said," you commented, shaking your head and folding your arms, "because you're a trained warrior. How could a horse ride and a fight almost cause you to pass out?"
Link shrugged, hands on his hips, and said, "I don't know. I suspect it may have been Sooga's sword, though. He's always treasured them for some reason, maybe because they were a gift from Kohga? You know... maybe he laced them with something."
"About that fight... I felt bad about leaving you all alone to battle Sooga alone. I get that it's your job, though I can't help but blame myself. So, I've been thinking," you began, letting your arms hang by your side and beginning to swing them in time with your footsteps.
Link looked at you, confused. "Princess, it's my job, you don't need to blame yourself."
"I know, but I can do more than the logical things. I haven't told anyone, but I do practice sword-fighting occasionally, even though I've never had a real opponent and therefore don't know what to improve. Link, I suppose what I'm asking is this: will you train me and make me a better fighter?" you finished, stopping in place and staring into his cerulean eyes. It didn't matter what he said now, you were determined to get a yes out of him. "And before you say no, I-"
"Sure, why not?" he smiled.
"-am perfectly capable of learning how to- Wait, you will? Great!" you replied, internally cheering that he had said yes. "Come with me!"
