Sonic hadn't expected such a sight upon comming home with a burger from, of course, MehBurger. Tails had raced towards the hedgehog immediatley and began rambling about some attack at a beach-side. Sonic had shrugged it off as some mediocre attack from Eggman - an unfortunately common instance. Sonic couldn't have been more wrong.Tails had lagged behind, opting to call for help. Sonic had ran head-first into the beach-side, hearing an onslaught of screams nearby. About a dozen people were running in the opposite direction of Sonic. Many were covered in blood and a few were being carried away, being too weak to flee. Sonic had never experienced a fight with Eggman where someone walked away seriously hurt - certainly not bleeding.
The blue blur sped forward, finding a crowd of sorts. Screams were erupting from the centre, people from the crowd jumping onto something and shouting to one another as they did so. Upon closer inspection, it was another möbian. They were a grey colour, their eyes blackened with glowing red pupils - resembling that of the beast from Sonic's dream.
It was scowling, dragging itself across the floor given the unusual bends in its legs. Sonic could only stare on in terror, watching as it tried to attack everyone. Its fangs were caked in blood, as were its hands and chin. It seemed animalistic, nothing but growls and roars erupting from its throat.
Being too wrapped up on the ensuing horror scene, Sonic hardly noticed a familiar hedgehog pounce onto the now inhumane beast, pushing his foot onto its back and delivering a singular gunshot to its head, immediatley silencing the beast as it fell to the floor.
Sonic jumped at the gunshot, looking up to see Shadow staring at him. The ebony hedgehog wiped his cheek, having a slight bit of blood spatter on it - the crimson substance matching that of his streaks and poising eyes. "Never seen blood before?" He asked Sonic expectantly. The crowd began to clear out.
Sonic approached the scene carefully, looking at the corpse in horror. It was lifeless, covered in blood - its eyes still black with glowing red, lifeless pupils seemingly staring at him. Blood had began to trickle down its head from the gunshot wound, perhaps a slight bit of skull being evident within the hole.
"Do you know what happened?" Sonic asked. Shadow merely shrugged. The lapiz hedgehog nodded in response. "I swear I've seen those eyes somewhere-" Sonic muttered, more to himself than the smaller hedgehog beside him. He saw the other jump slightly out of the corner of his eye, however he was swiftly interrupted before he could press on about his reaction.
"Sonic!" Tails called as he ran over. He stared at the body in pure shock before Sonic could step in his way to shield his poor brother. He stared at Sonic in terror, and then at Shadow. "I-" The fox paused. "I didn't think it was this serious." He whispered. Sonic nodded "He wasn't acting human - at all. He was like an animal." The blue blur shuddered, recalling the beast's eyes specifically.
"Who do we call?" The fox whispered. "The mortuary? A doctor?" He began to ramble, quickly beging stopped by Knuckles as he made his way over. The echidna didn't dwell on the body, though Sonic could see the shock and terror in his amethyst eyes. "Legally speaking, a doctor needs to confirm the death." He told the suprised fox in a deadpan manner.
"Yeah well you guys better hurry up." The white bat called as she flew down. She was holding a radio in her hand. "Something tells me that this little 'outburst' wasn't a voluntary or a natural ordeal." She spoke up, a slight hint of unsettledness in her tone. "Yeah." Sonic agreed, pulling out his respective communicator. "I'll get Amy to call; There's a phone in her bakery." He told the group, scrolling through his radio frequencies and selecting Amy's.
