Welcome on board

It's time. Right in front of my eyes is the big ship with it's enormous mast, which looked smaller on the flyer, and a mass of teenagers with their families. I kind of start to realize what is going to happen. I see Jemma waving at me with a big smile on her face. Her whole family came with her, including her little adorable golden retriever, which they just adopted. I can see her missing her dog the most, but I would do the same. The first thing I actually wanted to see was Mr. Godwin, but he has to be on the boat already. A shrill announcement is waking me up from imagining how the boat must look inside. "Welcome to Miami Beach. I ask all students to adopt their families and string in front of the entrance of our ship Cally." I did prepare myself for saying goodbye to my mom and because I'm full of adrenaline I don't regret my decision but am excited. "Thank you mom, for making this possible and supporting me all the time no matter what. I'll miss you. Love you." I said looking in her wet eyes. I don't want to cry, please don't make me cry. " I love you too honey. You'll rock this, go make your mom proud and make unforgettable memories." We hugged each other like it would be our last and I walked to the entrance constantly waving at her. "Hiiiiii", Jemma shouted at me full of excitement. "Oh you're not crying, good job" I said with a laughter. "I have to admit, I did, a little, but my parents are happy so I am too." she answered pointing to Mr. Godwin who's talking to the captain right in front of us. "As I can see we are complete. Hello everyone! I am Mr. Godwin, you're contact person for every need. I am so happy to see you! I hope you didn't forget anything and are ready to get started. Our colleagues will show you your rooms, you can decide where to go, but please, stay calm girls and boys, and the most
important have fun!" Mr. Godwin says with his biggest smile. Wow, everyone here is so happy. This boat trip is really a thing. It is definitely something unique and just we are able to participate.
Everyone is rushing on deck getting instructed by the female employees. As I can see, we are definitely more boys than girls, but too many girls are also not always the best. Me and Jemma hold hands and take the first room we can reach. "Let's wait for a third girl then", Jemma said inpatient. I see a girl looking around for a place. She's alone so I ask her if she'd want to join our group. She started smiling and chose a bed. The rooms are small, but there are big windows so it's really bright, and the view is so pretty. I can see the water shimmering right behind the bed that I will choose. "I don't know how much time we have but let's unpack our things very quick and go back then", Jemma said. "Oh I am Sara by the way, nice to meet you!" "Hi, we're Tara and Jemma, best friends since eight years, nice to meet you too" I said politely. Sara is looking at me while I unpack my two books and kindle. "Oh this book is so good, I love reading, like you do obviously, have you already started reading it?" Sara said in a high voice. "Ehm yes, I've read a little, it is really good! Mr. Godwin said we won't have much time reading but I really want to finish it soon. But time for reading can always be found." I answered with a wink. Jemma is telling us to hurry up, so we go back to the entrance." Mr. Godwin is talking to the parents. It took me a second to spot my mother, she is talking to the farther of, ehm Micheal probably I guess. I haven't seen his dad for a long time, but my mom and him seem to get along pretty well. Mr. Goodwin is coming back on board and winks to the captain that is sitting upstairs in front of the steering wheel. A loud noise sounds and the ship is moving. Everyone is shouting and winking at their families, including us of course. My
mother looks really happy, hopefully I won't miss to much while I'm gone. "I promise you, time will go by faster than you think so don't be too sad. Anyway, of course we have to introduce each other. I am Mr. Godwin, this up there on the wheel is Captain Nick, next to me are your new teachers Sam, Lucy and Adam. Of course I am also teaching you by leading all the experiments and tours. Now it's your turn, everyone is telling their name and one thing that they are most excited about." We're standing in a circle and of course I am the first one that has to introduce herself, but luckily I already practiced and know what I wish for. "Hey, I'm Tara and I'm most excited about going diving since I am amazed by the ocean." ( did this sound too polite? I hope not. ) right after me Jemma and Sara introduce themselves. "Hello everyone, I'm Jemma and I am most excited about exploring countries I've never been to before." "Hi, my name is Sara and I am most excited about getting to know more about the daily life on a ship." This is also the first time that I have the overview of all the students. Most of the boys actually don't look to bad and there were already some girls that smiled at me. One of them already caught my eye on the way to our cabinets, she has blond hair with beautiful beach waves and wears a turquoise summer dress with red and yellow flowers on it. I wish I would look like her. And to that, she looks really friendly. I really hope that we might get closer during my stay. But I know that beauty outside doesn't mean beauty inside. I mean I'm sure she's super nice but I will never forget how many fake friends let me fall in fifth and sixth grade. I mean we all had those people that you for example got along with well and thought to be friends with but then they pretended to not know you in front of their "real" friends. People can be so disgusting.
Thankfully Mr. Godwin interrupts my thoughts asking the other ones to introduce
