I just can't handle it
This thing called love
I must get 'round to it
I ain't ready
Crazy little thing called love" -Queen

Will was completely baffled by the whole scene. Did El just break up with Mike again? He felt guilty for his best friend and decided to look after him. While everyone continued their celebrations, the brunette silently left the kitchen.

After some minutes of helplessly looking around, he saw that the window to the garden was opened. And there he was. Mike was sitting in the grass, a bottle next to him.

Is he crying? It does sound like he's crying- should I really just go up there and bother him like that? Maybe I should just leave him alone and-

Will shook those thoughts off and slowly began to walk up to him with light steps. Moving closer, he could notice that the bloke was holding a guitar in his hands. He looked so vulnerable, Will just wanted to pull him into a tight embrace and never let him go but he couldn't and it wasn't fair it just wasn't fair how he couldn't tell the boy that he'd never break his heart how Eleven did and that he'd never leave his side, but he couldn't because he knew: Mike couldn't be more heterosexual than he already was.

"Hey, Mike." he spoke up in a gentle voice and slowly sat down next to the boy.

That's where Mike looked up, his eyes completely red from crying, his cheeks were all puffy. "Ahh.. Hey there Will." the black-haired boy managed a small smile that wasn't very convincing at all.

But there was something else Will realized when Mike spoke up: he smelled like alcohol. The brunette spotted a small bottle on Mike's right side and shook his head in disbelief. "Oh Mike, what's she done to you.." he let out a small sigh.

The next thing to hear was a small sob "She just..I planned to play a song for her you know I tried my best to be good but I just had to mess up again!" he furiously kicked the poor bottle of whiskey and went back to "drawing holes" in the grass. "I mean how DARE she break up with me, I am way too amazing."
the taller boy scoffed and his eyes narrowed to his guitar, completely pitying himself.

There was no doubt, Mike Wheeler was completely drunk so Will just decided to play along. "Yeah, how dare she!? I mean look at you, you're so amazing I don't get her issue, really."

That's where Mike's mouth twitched up to a small smile and he softly whispered "Thanks, Will. You're a good mate."

"Right yeah, good mate. No problem."

"Can I maybe erm- play the song to you?"

He wants to play a song to me!? Like right here? HERE!? A LOVE SONG!? Okay don't forget to breathe, Byers, inhale 1-2-3-4, hold it 1-2-3-4, exhale 1-2-3-4.

"Yes, of course you can."

(I won't add the whole song lyrics now but the song's called "Crazy little thing called love" by Queen:) I love them a lot)

"Well then!" his voice sounded much more cheerful now and he sat up straightly. Then he began the smooth finger work on his guitar. Will didn't pay attention to anything at all anymore. The dimmed music from inside didn't matter, all that did was this moment right now and only right now. Mike began to sing in a low voice.

It was breath-taking, the brunette adored this little raspiness in Mike's voice, he could practically sink and drown in it.

Minutes kept passing by and the freckled boy finished his last record. What followed was a small applause. "Thank you, thank you! No need to exaggerate it" he smirked a little. Yet the smirk slowly began to fade and tears began to fill his eyes. Before Will could even react, he found himself in a position he never thought he'd be: Mike's face was buried in his chest and those arms were wrapped around the brunette's torso. All you could hear were occasional sobs.

"It hurts so much."

Will, hesitantly, yet gently rested an arm behind Mike's back and traced his other hand through those curls he loved so much and whispered:

"I know it does."

"Can we stay like this for a while..?"

His heart was racing at this point and his cheeks were burning up. He never felt this sensation of the one you love the most to be looking for affection from you.

"Of course we can, whatever makes you feel better."

"Thank you." Mike closed his eyes, trying to focus on his breathing the best he could.

Nothing else mattered right now. It was Will he needed at the moment. He was the only one that understood him, the only one who was there at the moment.

"You'll get over her, I promise, the right person is just waiting for you." Will gave in as a reply.
