We decide to go back to the middle school, since we left the kids alone. Steve and I drove in his car, while Nancy and Jonathan drove in Jonathan's car, Jonathan needed to go get something so they stayed behind a bit.
The car ride was pretty silent, I was worried for the kids, especially for Eleven, since she's wanted by these cruel people from Hawkins Lab. Poor girl, she's been through so much.
"How do you know how to use a gun?" Steve asks me, breaking the silence.
"Oh," I playfully scoff. "Back in 1978, I went to camp, with a friend of mine who I last saw before... I don't remember. But anyways, they taught us how to use a gun in any dangerous situation, which they were right, it was useful. It's been so long."
"It caught me off guard that, you, (Y/n) Henderson, knows how to use a gun."
I laugh. "Oh, haha, just don't actually tell my mom she'll freak out, but also don't tell anyone else about this whole situation."
"That there's a weird undiscovered creature roaming around Hawkins, that's from an alternative dimension? Or that you know how to use a gun?"
"Both."
"Well, if you don't mind, can you tell me more about this alternative dimension?"
"Wow, asking so formal. Never thought 'King' Steve Harrington, is so formal." I joke.
"Yeah, yeah, but actually will you tell me."
"Well, do you know DnD."
"The nerdy game, yeah."
"It's not nerdy with what I'm going to tell you. But on November 6th, the day Will went missing, that day the boys were having a DnD campaign, well apparently the Demogorgon; the monster we fought; took Will, and took him to a place called 'The Upside Down', it's like a replica of Hawkins, just creepier, and no humans there. That's where Barb was, until... The Demogorgon also got her, but she, she um... She died. She's gone, and her parents don't even know where she is, and it's just so stressful. We found out she was dead, by this girl, her name is Eleven-"
"Eleven? As in a number."
"Yeah, she was experimented in Hawkins National Laboratory, she can't speak many words, she doesn't know her real name. She was stuck with these cruel people, she doesn't know much, but she's learning. We found her in the woods, and well she has special abilities, she can move stuff with her mind, and find people as well. She has, this connection to The Upside Down, that's how we found out Will is alive. I guess that's all." I finish up.
