To say I was on cloud nine would definitely be a fucking understatement. I was floating on the fucking moon right now. Last night was one of the most amazing and memorable nights of my life and it had been with him.

Kai. I woke up early and was blessed with the privilege of seeing the beautiful red haired man I was totally in love with. I couldn't believe we had done what we did yesterday but honestly, it was worth it. I gazed at his ethereal face as he slept, his lips partly open and his red hair tousled but in the most amazing way.

His grip on me tightened and suddenly he flipped us over. I squealed in surprise and stared into his now opened eyes.

"Morning love. Sleep well?" He asked and began to kiss down my neck. I nodded as I enjoyed the feeling of lips on my skin. This is too good to be true. I groaned as he pulled back, ridding me of his body heat. For a few seconds, we just stared at one another, basking in the feeling of ecstasy. "God I love you." He whispered, his eyes fixated on me with love shining bright within them.

"I love you too." I responded wholeheartedly. It felt foreign to hear and utter these words but it was entirely how I felt now. I love him. He initiated a kiss but before it could get any more heated, a knock came on the door.

"Is it safe to enter now?" We heard Lia call from the other side of the door. My eyes widened as I began to feel embarrassment. We had totally forgotten Lia and the worst part was that, we weren't exactly so discreet about our dirty deeds last night. Kai laughed at how red my face had gotten before answering,

"Just a minute nana." He got off me and we both quickly got dressed before he went to attend to the old lady but not before she winked at me, making my face turn an even brighter crimson.

They left and I was left alone. I proceeded to take a shower and change into a pair of sweatpants, a cropped sweater then tied my hair up in a loose ponytail before leaving the room. I decided to make some calls and let some of the galleries I worked with know that I was going to be in California for some time. Then I called my mom and let her about that too. When she asked why, I told her that 'Louis' and I were travelling together.

She gushed about me having a boyfriend finally for the first time and she was even planning a wedding already. As pleasant as that sounded, I don't think I was ready for that, mentally I mean. After that, Kai and I helped Lia to do some gardening, with which we were totally playing around so much that the poor old lady nearly shooed us away but we insisted heavily on helping her so she let us stay but after, she made us leave so she could have to some quiet time in the porch.

So now, Kai and I lay in his bed, my body partially thrown on his, my head on his chest as he played with my hair which he had taken out of its ponytail.

"Has your hair always been this blonde?" He asked. I nodded.

"Yeah. My mom also had naturally blonde hair like me but she changed it and decided to be brunette." I explained. I then realised that I didn't know much about him. Yes he may have told me about himself but that must have probably been lies to cover up his identity. It hurt me that he lied about himself but I understood that he had to. "Tell me about yourself. Your real self." I told him. He continued to fiddle with my hair as he spoke.

"Well, I'm Kai Reynolds. Everything I told you about my parents was true. My mom did love coffee a lot and she worked at a coffee brewery factory. She did have cancer but that didn't kill her." He paused for a moment and I rubbed his chest reassuringly then he continued, "I was actually born and raised in the western part of California. It was good there. We lived there since I was born until my mom died and I had to escape. I previously had dark brown hair but because I had to change the way I looked, I dyed my hair this red colour that Gabriella also had." Woah, he really must have loved her to have dyed his hair red just like hers.

I've always loved his hair so it was quite weird to hear the real reason behind it. Nonetheless, I tried not to be weirded out by it. I still loved it.

"I changed my name and moved to St Augustine five Years ago to be precise then got myself a job and tried to lay low until I started getting threatening mails that said that he was going to find me soon and kill me. That's when I disappeared and went off the radar. I used my grandmother's land line to call you and that's how we're now." He finished.

"Why couldn't you have called me sooner if all you had to do was use the landline?" I questioned with a pout. He chuckled and caressed my cheek before going back to playing with my hair.

"I was paranoid. I thought I would put you in danger but my grandma convinced me to call you the moment I told her about you." He answered. I hummed absent-mindedly and remained silent.

"You know I love you right?" I started, "No matter where you go, what comes after you, no matter what danger you face, I'll always be here with you. Please don't ice me out or push me into the dark cus that honestly hurt like a motherfucker. I swear I couldn't breath properly every time I thought that something bad might have happened to you." I said to him. I tried to control my emotions then but I just couldn't and started sniffling as tears sprang up in my eyes. Kai sat up and took my face in his, making me stare into his beautiful eyes.

'Hey, it's okay. I promise I won't keep you in the dark ever again. All I wanted to do was to protect you love, you know I would never want to hurt you. I'm sorry I couldn't tell you anything but...fuck..." He stopped talking after I totally broke down in his arms, crying like a new born baby. I had kept all the anger, anxiety and fear pent up in my chest and finally couldn't keep it to myself anymore so I cried.

He simply stroked my hair, ensuring me that he and I were both fine and were going to make it past everything. I had never felt this safe, this free. I now knew that I would sacrifice everything I had for this man, I would love him for as long as we both lived...
