As an independent 21 year old artist, I get lonely sometimes and so I created this tradition of going to different places to have fun. Last year I went to New York and went to every Amusement Park I could find.
Louis was a bit busy this week and wasn't really able to see me since that night we sat on the bonnet of his Nissan. This year, I decided to drive around the streets of Sunnyside, NY. New York is actually my birth city. It's where I was born, bred and where all my dreams began. I love this city so much.
I love driving about the streets, taking in the busy, beautiful scenery that unfolds. I left Augustus Ville quite early and was in New York by 8am. Sunnyside was a very pretty place. I first visited Burger King and had a full meal before having the rest packed up for me then resumed my drive. I thought of visiting my parents in Queens but I decided to do that when I'm going home.
I stopped by some cafes, some to have a drink and most just for a photo or two. After these trips, I always made a scrapbook, something like a photo log to remember them. I missed Louis so much and I wished that I could do this with him but--
Wait! I can just call him.
I took my phone from the passenger seat and called him as I drove one handed.
He answered on the second ring.
"Hey love, missing me I see." He said. Hearing his voice was like the warmth of sunshine on my skin. So refreshing!
"You wish. Guess where I am?" I heard him chuckle.
"Not sure but I'm gonna take a wild guess and say...hmm...maybe the Grand Canyon?" I laughed at his dramatic tone.
"Nice guess but no. I'm in Sunnyside New York. I did miss you a little bit but you were busy so I decided to visit my roots." I said to him.
"I wish I could be there with you love but I've got so much work to do here. Maybe this weekend we can go on a little trip together, what do you say?" The thought of going on a trip with him, alone made my body tingle.
"Awesome. I gotta go now, talk to you later." I said.
"Okay. Be safe, see you this weekend." And with that, he ended the call. I sighed happily as I began to blast Stray Kid's 'FAM' in my car and I sang along happily.
Hours later, I decided it was enough driving and photo taking so I decided to end the trip and swing my parents' place. It felt so good to see them. Dad was so happy but mom was just fine seeing me since she had come to see me not long ago.
I spent almost two hours there then left. I got back to Augustus Ville around 9pm and I was so exhausted that I collapsed on my couch immediately I got to my apartment and I passed out cold. I woke up the next day, still feeling exhausted.
When I decided that I was less tired, I got up and checked my kitchen cabinets only to realize that I was out of almost everything and I had to go grocery shopping.
I quickly slipped on a pair of sweat leggings and a baggy black shirt and let my hair fall down my back. I grabbed my purse, car key and slipped on a pair of black boots then left to go grocery shopping.
As I walked through the aisles, I went to the snack aisle to get some chips and drinks when I saw a couple. The female had raven black hair, I couldn't quite see her eyes but her face was round and she smiled happily as the guy leaned down and pressed a kiss to her cheek. She was sitting in the shopping cart as he pushed it and sometimes she would make little 'weee' sounds as he pushed it. He would laugh and ruffle her hair.
I smiled fondly, feeling a pang in my heart as I missed Louis. The guy turned to get something from the shelf when I recognized him. He was Mark, Louis's friend from work. I called his name and walked towards him. He recognized me and waved with a polite smile.
"Hey. You're Louis's girlfriend right?" He asked. I didn't how to answer his question because Louis and I hadn't really out a label on our relationship yet but I nodded nonetheless, liking how it sounded.
"How's Louis doing? He's been so busy that I don't get to see him." I said. He smirked at me.
"Ah, you miss him don't you? He's fine. Trust me when I say he misses you too" I tried not to blush. I realized that I hadn't greeted the girl in the shopping cart. I waved at her.
"Hi, I'm so sorry for--" She waved it off.
"Oh don't worry. I'm Mia." She said, stretching he hand out and I took it. Her eyes were a beautiful steel grey that shined almost with a bit of mischief.
"Amalia. Nice to meet you." Mark just watched our interaction but stepped in.
"And I'm the boyfriend." He joked. Mia slapped his arm, he yelped and rubbed the area where she had hit him. I giggled, loving them together. They're so cute.
"Well I apologize for interrupting your shopping date, just wanted to say hi." I told them. They both waved a dismissive hand.
"Eh, It was nice meeting you too. By the way, why don't you pay Louis a visit at his place?" Mia suggested.
"Oh, I don't really know where he lives." I admitted shamefully.
"Then I'll text you the place. Here, give me your phone so I give you my number." She said and I gave her my phone. After exchanging numbers with her and Mark, she sent me Louis's address and I parted ways with them to continue my shopping. As soon as I was done, I paid for my grocery, got into my car after putting the grocery in the back seat then proceeded to find Louis's place. He lived not too far from my apartment but not too near by the looks of it. As I neared the location given to me, I assessed my surroundings.
It was an average looking neighbourhood and it gave off homey vibes. I like it.
I stopped in front of the house that matched the description Mia gave me. It was a small but beautiful house painted a light yellow. There were vines climbing the side corners of the house but I liked it. It looked old but all the same exotic. The door was a mahogany colour that kind of fit the whole theme of the house. There were flower pots in front of the house lined up on the cobble stone pathway that lead up to the front door.
I parked a little away from the pathway and locked my car before following the cobble stone pathway to the front door and peeped through the window but all the light were off. Looks like he's not home. Still at work probably.
I went, feeling defeated but decided to wait in my car until he comes. I was still tired and decided to close my eyes but ended up actually sleeping. I woke up to someone knocking on my window. I woke up to find Louis grinning at me. I rolled the window down and tiredly smiled.
"I'm quite surprised to find you here but Mark called me just now and told me to expect a visit from you." I nodded at his statement and opened the door. He opened it wider and took my hand, bringing me out and closing the door for me. "I'm sorry for not being the person to bring you here myself but I wanted to do that. I've just been so busy--" I placed a finger on his luscious lips.
"No need to apologize Loui, I'm good. Besides, I like discovering and exploring so I would say that I had fun discovering your dwelling place." I told him. He pulled me into a warm hug and immediately melted into his body.
"Let's go in then, it's getting too cold for you to be out." He pulled back and let me lock my car before taking me into his house.
