I stare at the moon for the last time and started to get ready for sleep

in the corner of my eyes, I saw your fainted presence

so small yet so bold to even survive after all those years

hiding in broken shards, scratches, and paint

I finally understood

I didn't have to dig rather embrace us

I walked towards you with the purpose to reconcile

you pushed me away and merely caress my face

you gave me a kiss on my forehead

"what's good to hold onto me?", you asked with concern

I didn't know what to answer but tears

you sadly nodded and pointed at my heart

"live for yourself", you whispered as you placed your forehead against mine

I closed my eyes and held us for a moment

the moon, the shadows, and the room was dark

yet

it was oddly peaceful

then, I knew

she was gone

her presence.
