Imagine

I always imagine
Someone holding me dearly
Someone that could allow me to drown with understanding
Someone that could run their hands through my hair with gentleness
Someone that could be there
I imagined
I know we both did
We both craved for what we didn't get
It was like a gift
But it was empty
The outside looked beautiful
Valuable
Desirable
But no matter what we did
It wasn't definite
Nor wasn't it there at all
It was just a comfort
I can feel the warm arms wrapping
around me
I can feel protected
I can feel heard
We could feel safe
If only we were loved truly
were we?
The shadows did give us everything
But the cost for it was met with punishment
That's where we always question
From the day we were both born
Why was it that a dream was more comforting than the arms of the reality?
