another broken soul

The sun rose into the sky on this fine morning as the group in the library awoke to their stallion nuzzling and kissing them as he ushered them to freshen up for today, he felt as if something important would happen, probably something he forgot to do ever since twilight's near demise at the hands of celestia's blatant disregard for her advice at the wedding, Azul was still very mad at celestia, he is not one easy to forgiveness, but he shakes his head thinking this and to get his mind off it before he gets himself even more mad, he waits and his girls arrive and sit at the library table as they eat his breakfast he has made them, spike who was very wary of Azul still since he was somewhat part of the wedding incident burped up a scroll in green flame, which could only mean trouble.

and indeed it was, the letter detailed a town far off away from ponyville, the residents acting strange, and Twilight and her friends being asked to check it out, hearing this, Gilda would stay home with scootaloo, the filly being much happier since her dad adopted her, Azul also had a bad feeling but couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was and decided yet again to accompany his mares and their friends, getting on the train and into a room it was silent this would be a long ride, not having breakfast yet Azul used some of his magic to make food appear, not one to abuse his God powers at all felt this was petty but everypony was hungry, as the friends dug in, Twilight spoke up first wanting to break the silence.

(Twilight) ," Hey Azul... when we get back home, I was wondering if you and my herdmates wanted a picnic."

(Applejack) ," Well, twi, that's a mighty fine idea, sure, and uhm...darlin...ah got something. I need to speak with ya after...". * The mare blushes as it was important...*

(Pinkie Pie) ," Yeah, I also need to talk with him...Aj do you want to speak together?".  the pink mare looked at the farm mare who nodded not minding pinkie being there if they had the same worries...Azul thought to Gilda too and wondered when she would ask, but that would come later, as he snuggled with his mares he spoke.

(Azul) ," Of course twi that sounds wonderful and Aj and Pinkie, of course I'll be there, now, we should also speak about meeting your families...I've barely met pinkies...I've only seen twilight's brother who was being controlled and we haven't checked on him, and I haven't even seen the rest of Aj's family, wanting to be careful and not scare them...I've meet Gilda's dad...but hey maybe this will be quick...hopefully we can be back sooner than we think". he was optimistic,  as they just occupied themselves with cuddles, kisses, and other romantic things, still only about a quarter to their destination they began to wonder what else they could do...

It would be a long trip buy eventually they made it to a village the air around being somber and wrong, Azuls senses where going haywire...something was going on, they best all be careful...moving through the town they saw...ponies smiling like it hurt...and Azul was already scanning for possible threats and of course felt the magic of the stolen cutie marks, halting their advance he then spoke.

(Azul) ," Girls, I sense something in the mountains...you see what's going on Here, I'll go and check out what I sensed, be careful...".

(Twilight) ,"Alright, love, you be careful too, We'll handle it here. You go and see what you sensed."

(Pinkie) ," Azzy, hurry back, ok don't be gone too long...".

(Aj) ," Darlin... just don't get in over your head...".

(Rainbow) ," Tch, acting like he isn't the most powerful being Here *she crossed her hooves, she still had quiet a distaste for him though she still wouldn't directly fight him on account of what happened to twi...*."

(Fluttershy) ," W-Well, here we go, girls. Let's hope that this ends quickly...".

(Rarity) ," Well, shall we do what we came to do?."

They had all split up, the girls heading deeper into the village as Azul headed for the outskirts, climbing the mountain his eyes scanned the area, he knew always to be on gaurd for if he where to drop it, he may end up back in darkness,  that's not to say he was powerful, but with his weak grip on the fabric of reality all it took was a banishment spell, he apexed the mountain and saw the cave as he approached before breaking in, As a mare turned toward the noise in shock.

(Starlight) ," What?!, how did you...".

she froze seeing what Azul was as the creature had his gaze locked onto her she still had her cutie mark, this must be who was doing this to the town, he walked forward and broke the containers as the cutie marks flew out to their rightful owners...

(Azul) ," So you're the one stealing everyponies ambitions... I ought to outright deal with you myself...but ill go easy and settle this my wa-."

he never finished as a ray of magic almost struck him as he dodged away, but as he did, he saw it was laced with a chainlike signature in the magic.

(Azul) ," A high-level banishment spell!...this just got dangerous...so...why are you doing this...".

(Starlight) ," Shut up! I don't need to talk to some monstrous entity of why I do what I do, you know nothing if loss!."

She kept firing as Azul dodged he could sense the others fast approaching, as he groaned, not being able to get close to her, he may be fast, but he can't risk getting hit by that spell she keeps firing.

(Azul) ," Of course I do... don't claim to know what others have gone through without even attempting to ask...so... was it that sunburst guy...got his cutie mark and left hmm, you know that's such a petty reason to do this...I know he was you're freind but you didn't even try to ask if he would send you letters...you just gave up!...".

(Starlight) ," S-Shut up!, alright!!!...i...I don't need friends...I d-dont want help!."

tears started to fall from her eyes as the blasts slowed, and this was his chance. He moved forward and got behind her, disabling her horn and spoke,to her.

(Azul) ," I know you're hurt...I know...that you feel abandoned...but this isn't the way...you'll only drive yourself into lonliness...let my friends and marefreinds...help you...you are broken, let us put you back together, I too know loneliness and so does Luna, you don't have to be alone...please".

he reached out his claw, and she hugged him tightly, releasing her pent-up sorrow onto him, sighing in relief he patted her as the girls arrived

(Twilight) ," Azul!."

(Azul) ," Crisis delt with...this one here needs lots of love and attention...she fell asleep after draining her emotions...".

(Pinkie) ," Poor thing...she seems to be so lonely...on the way home...can you explain what happened?."

she said sadly.

(Aj) ," Well hon...ya got a specail way of talking to pony's...ya save them instead of outright ridiculing them...you're a good soul...".

she smiled at her coltfriend as she felt honored to be In his herd.

(Twilight) ," Thanks, Azul, you've done a lot for us, and you're making sure that we don't have to deal with anything too dangerous, and we love you for that, though some are still against you you keep trying to make our home the entire planet a better place...".

She nuzzled him as she sighed happily.

(Fluttershy) ," Well, at least this all ended peacefully."

she smiled, she really liked azuls kind heart, he really seemed scary but had a heart of gold.

Rainbow only growled and folded her hooves, still not trusting the entity.

(Rarity) ," Well darlings crisis averted let's all go home shall we..."

so they borded the train as Azul explained Starlight backstory, and he was still on edge for he knew something was coming...
