Lion King: Mufasa's Reign

Chapter Two

"What was the dream about?" Asked Rafiki. "It was my grandmother and my sister warning me about the future or something", said Sarabi. Rafiki looked around and felt her stomach. He took a test later and he walked to her. "You're pregnant, Sarabi. The test came back positive", said Rafiki. Sarabi was stressed. "Mufasa will be stressed", said Sarabi. Rafiki hugged her. "I never had kids but one advice is you do what your heart wants to do. Don't listen to your head. Listen to your heart", said Rafiki. Sarabi cried. "I'm not ready to be a mother!" Said Sarabi. "Listen to me, noone is ready to be a parent. They overcome it. Either they're a good parent or a bad parent. You will be a good mother, I promise", said Rafiki.

Sarabi slowly nodded. "Okay. I'll tell him after the coronation though", said Sarabi. Rafiki nodded and walked with her. Mufasa stood on top of the Pride Rocks smiling. Sarabi climbed up smiling nervously. "Sarabi, you look so beautiful", said Mufasa. "Thank you. You look handsome, Mufasa", said Sarabi. Mufasa smiled and waited for Rafiki. Everyone gathered underneath the Pride Rocks to watch Mufasa's and Sarabi's coronation. Scar watched boredly while Sarafina was emotional.

"Mufasa, do you promise that you will take the responsibility of being king of the Pridelands?" Asked Rafiki. "I do", said Mufasa. Rafiki turned to Sarabi. "Sarabi do you promise that you will take the responsibility of being queen of the Pridelands?" Asked Rafiki. "I do", said Sarabi. Rafiki smiled at them. "Then I announce you the new official king and queen of the Pridelands", said Rafiki. Mufasa and Sarabi looked at the sky and roared. "I can't believe we did this", said Sarabi quietly. "I know", said Mufasa.

A few minutes later, everyone left leaving Sarabi and Mufasa alone. "Mufasa, there's something I need to tell you", said Sarabi. "What is it?" Asked Mufasa. Sarabi sighed. "I'm pregnant. I know I wasn't ready to be a mother and I know you're not ready to be a father but we can make this work I promise. We'll raise our cub good", said Sarabi. Mufasa stared at her in shock but later hugged her. "That's the best news I heard in a while! Of course I'm ready to be a father! Don't worry Sarabi, I'll help you raise our cub", said Mufasa. Sarabi smiled.

"I'm so happy to have someone like you", said Sarabi. Mufasa smiled. "So when do you want to tell everyone?" Asked Mufasa. "I want to wait a little bit then I will announce it", said Sarabi. Mufasa nodded. "That's fine with me", said Mufasa. Meanwhile, Scar and Sarafina rested at the main den. Scar got up and snuck out of th Pridelands. He went to the Elephant Graveyard and was met by Shenzi. "You're late again", said Shenzi. "I'm sorry I was taking care of Sarafina", said Scar. Shenzi laughed. "You're not even the father of the cub she's having", said Shenzi. Scar sighed.

"Are you ever going to have pups?" Asked Scar. Shenzi laughed. "Why? So I can die like my mom did and leave my cub to rule the kingdom by themself?" Asked Shenzi. Scar sighed. "I promised Sarafina I would take care of her cub. It's too late to go back", said Scar. Shenzi laughed. Banzai and Ed walked to Scar. "Hey Scar. How you doing?" Asked Banzai. "I could be better. Sarafina looks like she's going to pop any minute now", said Scar. Ed laughed. "It's true. Her stomach is big as an elephant", said Scar. "That's big talk for someone who's not the father", remarked Shenzi.

"Shenzi, quit getting mad over little things", said Scar. "Quit making fun of pregnant animals then", said Shenzi. Scar ignored her and brought her a buffalo. "Will this feed your whole clan?" Asked Scar. "For now. It will", said Shenzi. Scar nodded and left. He thought of earlier when Mufasa and Sarabi were crowned King and Queen. He noticed Sarabi acted strange just like Sarafina did when she became pregnant. He ignored it and went back to the main den to sleep with Sarafina.
