Chapter Thirteen

Sarabi stood by the on top of the Priderocks. She saw Sarafina racing to her in tears. "Sarabi! I'm going to die!" Cried Sarafina. She started hyperventilating. Sarabi placed her paw on her shoulder. "What happened?" Asked Sarabi. "Your grandmother told me that I'm not going to make it. She said I'll die if I try to split my soul with Naanda and that I'll die if she stays in my body. I don't want to leave my daughter", said Sarafina. Sarabi sighed. "It's okay. We'll find a way to make sure you survive. I won't let you die on my watch", said Sarabi.

Sarafina calmed down. "Are you sure?" Asked Sarafina. "Yes. Matter in fact, you can sleep with me in this den. Mufasa doesn't mind. He's looking for herbs with Rafiki", said Sarabi. Sarafina smiled. "Okay thank you. Nina is watching my daughter", said Sarafina. Sarabi smiled and hugged her. "It's okay. You will make through this. I promise. Sarafina nodded. It took her a while to fall asleep but eventually she did. She woke up in a very dark place. She saw a mirror from a distance. She walked to the mirror and saw Naanda as her reflection. She moved her paw around. Naanda copied her.

Sarafina attempted to got through the mirror but she couldn't. She backed up and raced through the mirror to be pushed back. She started crying and attempted to run to the mirror but she failed again. After a few attempts, she managed to go through the mirror harder. She finally went through but she was in a very dark place with noone. "Hello?" Asked Sarafina. "Follow me", whispered a voice. Sarafina was confused. "I don't know where you're at though", said Sarafina. "Follow my voice", said the voice. Sarafina followed the voice and saw Naanda's spirit. "There's a portal there. Just go through it and you will be okay", said Naanda.

"Thank you but I really need to know why you did this for me", said Sarafina. "Because you're my sister's best friend and I just don't matter anymore because my cub forgot about me. I wanted you to have a chance to love your cub", said Naanda. Sarafina started tearing up and hugged her. "Goodbye", said Sarafina. Naanda waved at her. Sarafina walked to the portal and went through it. She woke up in Sarabi's and Mufasa's den. "Oh my!" Said Sarafina as she was shocked. Sarabi saw Sarafina was awake and hugged her. "I told you that nothing would happen", said Sarabi.

Sarabi hugged her until she felt a sharp kick. She groaned. "Are you okay?" Asked Sarafina. "Yeah. I'm fine, it was a little kick. Ow, this kick is even stronger", said Sarabi. Sarafina saw water coming out of Sarabi. "Um Sarabi, I think your water broke", said Sarafina. Sarabi noticed and started panicking. "Calm down. I'll go get help", said Sarafina. Sarabi calmed down and laid down. Sarafina ran to the den with Nina, Diku, and Dwala. "Okay. Sarabi, stay calm. You got this", said Nina.

Sarabi took a deep breath. "Stay calm", said Nina. Sarafina held her paw. "Think of happy thoughts. Don't be like me", whispered Sarafina. Sarabi nodded. She thought of the first time when she met Mufasa when they were cubs. She also thought of the first time he asked her out. Mufasa rushed to the den. "Sarabi! I'm so sorry! I didn't know!" Said Mufasa. "It's fine. Where's Rafiki at?" Asked Nina. Mufasa sighed. "He's still looking for herbs but I'll go get him", said Mufasa. "No. Sarabi needs you to hold her paw", said Sarafina.

"Okay. Okay", said Mufasa. He held Sarabi's paw as she was struggling. Diku and Dwala still were guarding the den making sure there was no distractions. Eventually, Nina saw a head coming out. "I see a head. Go ahead and push, Sarabi", said Nina. Sarabi grunted and pushed. She squeezed both Sarafina's and Mufasa's paw. She screamed as the cub was coming out. A few seconds later, the cub was born. Nina held the cub. "The cub is born", said Nina.
