Chapter Eight

Sarafina woke up in Rafiki's tree. "Where am I? Where's Scar? Where's my daughter?" Asked Sarafina. "Calm down. They're at the nursery waiting for you, dear", said Rafiki. Sarafina calmed down. She saw Sarabi walking towards her. "How are you today?" Asked Sarabi. "I'm still tired. I'm not trying to make up stuff but your sister Naanda really saved my life", said Sarafina. Sarabi hugged her. "I know she did. She's a hero", said Sarabi. "And it's my fault that she's gone. You can't see her anymore", said Sarafina. Sarabi cried. "No it's not! It was Scar's fault! He left her at that sketchy Pride by herself with that strange lion and that cobra who killed her", said Sarabi.

"Yes it is. If I knew that I wouldn't make it during the birth, I would've just not let her sacrifice her spirit for me but I was desperate for my daughter", said Sarafina. "I understand, Sarafina. Your daughter would be so upset if you were gone", said Sarabi. Sarafina sighed. "When I became pregnant with her and Ajabu died, I was really stressed out about who was going to raise her with me because I couldn't do it alone. I never knew I had a whole Pride that was willing to care for her with me. I guess I just cared to much about the raising that I didn't care about the risks during birth", said Sarafina.

Sarabi smiled with tears in her eyes. "Let me get Nala. She will love to see you", said Sarabi. Sarabi walked to the nursery den and saw Scar and Nala laying together. "Nala, come with me. Your mother missed you so much", whispered Sarabi. "Oh thank Ahadi! She has gotten on my nerves!" Said Scar. Nina growled. "She's a cub. What the hell do you expect from her?" Asked Nina. "I expect her to shut the hell up! Always crying for milk! Now she can get it!" Said Scar. Sarabi scoffed and looked at Nina. "Ignore him. I know he pisses you off. He does the same to me too but anger is never the answer", said Sarabi.

"It's easy for you to say! He called my daughter fat and now he's calling my granddaughter a brat", said Nina. Sarabi sighed. "Nina, Nala and Sarafina will be okay. I promise. I am the queen and as long I'm the queen I won't let anything bad happen to them", said Sarabi. Sarabi picked up Nala and carried her. She put her down at Rafiki's tree. Sarafina cried when she saw her daughter. Nala crawled to her mother. Sarafina embraced her. "Nala! I missed you so much", said Sarafina. Nala cooed. Sarafina giggled. "Momma", said Nala. Sarafina was in shock. "You said your first word!" Exclaimed Sarafina. She kissed her daughter.

Scar came in and saw Sarafina and Nala. "My favorite family!" Said Scar. He hugged them. Sarafina smiled but later frowned. Scar noticed her. "What's going on?" Asked Scar. "I don't feel like talking about it in front of the cub", said Sarafina. Scar scoffed. "Rude much? I asked what was going on because I care for you. Why can't you understand that?" Asked Scar. "Because I'm too tired to argue with you. You're selfish, there I said it. Are you happy?" Said Sarafina. Scar was angry. "I'm selfish?! Really?! I'm selfish?!" Asked Scar. "Yes, you are. You don't care about anyone but yourself", said Sarafina. Scar struck her. She was on the ground. "Give me one good reason why I am selfish!" Yelled Scar.

"You never cared for me or my daughter. You only wanted me for yourself. You don't love us at all and I've tried my best to see the good about you but the truth is there is nothing but evil in you", said Sarafina. Scar growled. Nala started crying. Sarafina comforted her. "You're making her cry! That is also a reason why you're selfish. You don't care about our feelings. You think we're objects", said Sarafina. Scar scoffed and walked away. "He's just throwing a temper tantrum. It has nothing to do with you, sweetie", said Sarafina.
