CH.21 The Same Old

Mary Jane POV

* 2 months later*

I was walking home and Anna was cooking. Peter said he wants to show me something, whatever that means. After what happened at school, nobody tried to fuck with me since. I mean, everybody has been so nice to me lately. Especially Flash. Gwen hasn't spoke to me since I put her in the hospital. Those days were extremely rough, since I had to gain Anna's trust again.
MJ:"Hey Anna."
Anna:"Hey sweetheart. How's your day so far?"
MJ:"So far, so good."
Anna:"That's great sweetie."
Danielle comes downstairs with Valerie and Gayle.
Danielle:"Mom, MJ and Peter are going on a date." She says with a huge smile.
MJ:"It's not a date. We're just hanging out as friends. It's not like that."
Anna & Danielle:"Mmmhmmm."
I laugh at them and I hear the doorbell. I ran to the door and open it. It's Peter, of course. He grins and comes in.
Peter:"Miss me much?"
MJ:"You wish." I say as I shove his arm.
Anna:"Hello Peter."
Peter:"Hey Anna."
Valerie & Gayle:"Hi Peter."
Peter:"Hey. Has she been talking about me?"
Gayle whispers in his ear.
Peter:"Oh really?" He says as he smirks and winks at me. He's so perverted.
Anna:"Girls, get ready for your baths."
Valerie & Gayle:"Okay!" They scream as they run upstairs. Danielle whispers something in Peter's ear. I hate it when they do that in front of me.
MJ:"Okay Peter, it's time to go." I said as I try to drag Peter to get away from Anna.
Anna:"MJ, let me talk with Peter."
I sigh irratatingly. I hate it when she does this.
Anna:"So, you guys are going to stay as friends or.......?"
Peter:"Yeah, just friends."
Anna:"Do you find Mary Jane attractive?"
MJ:"ANNA!"
Anna:"Calm down MJ, let him answer the question."
Peter:"I mean...do you want me to answer that?" He asks me.
MJ:"No, let's go." I say as I grab Peter's arm.
Anna:"Have fun."
Me and Peter walk for a little bit and I get curious on what he wants to "show" me. When we get to an empty area, Peter grabs my waist and pulls me towards him. That felt good, but I'm still confused.
MJ:"What are you doing?"
Peter:"I'm gonna swing you somewhere."
MJ:"Oh god....."
Peter:"Don't worry, I won't let you fall."
Then, he starts swinging to a beautiful clocktower. The sight was so beautiful. You can see the street light and the houses and buildings. We landed on a platform right next to the big clock.
MJ:"It's so beautiful."
Peter:"I come up here all the time. To think about everything that's happened."
I look at him and get curious about how he became Spider Man.
MJ:"How did you get your abilities?"
Peter:"Oscorp, of course. I was being nosy and a radioactive spider bit me."
MJ:"What does it look like?"
He opens his backpack and pulls out a glass-like container with the spider in it. I grab it from him and analyze it. It had red stripes along the back and the skin was black and it had long legs.
MJ:"It looks so beautiful."
Peter:"Know's how to bite though."
MJ:"Does anybody else know's about it?"
Peter:"Just you." He smiles and laughs. Aw, that was an adorable sight.
MJ:"Really?" I ask, really surprised.
He nods and grabs my hand. For me, it was a weird sight because his hands are bigger than mine.
Peter:"Thank you, Mary Jane."
MJ:"For what?"
Peter:"Being there for me. I probably wouldn't have been much happier if you weren't here."
MJ:"Thanks, tiger. I'm much more than happy that I get to see you again."
I lean my head against his shoulder and we look at the lights far away. For the first time in forever, I'm more happy than I've ever been.
