Chapter Twelve : Encounter
JOHN'S DIARY: I turned the phone off after telling Mike I was going to save him;
"How does he know I was here with you?" I asked.
"I gave him the phone, I told him to call me, and he did!" Lin explained.
"When I was about to hang up, he shouted your name, so the minute that I saw you and heard your name, I knew that you were the one.
"Why didn't you say something the minute we saw each other?"
"I couldn't, I needed to have time alone with you first, s-so I could tell you everything."
"Well" I came to a conclusion "Since he only said one sentence and hung up, it probably means he is in danger, so we need to go to that damn village!"
"When?"
"Now!" I screamed as I walked towards Jordan's house. But then I stopped.
"Why did you give him a phone?" I asked Lin.
"What do you mean?" Lin then asked.
"You wanna to act stupid?" I felt a sudden anger slithering through "You gave him a phone, why? He had one already, it's like you knew he would get captured!"
"No, that's not why I did that!"
"Then tell me why!" I was close to putting my hands on his throat.
"I knew he was a traveler simply by his clothes, so I gave him the phone because I assumed he didn't have one!"
Lin looked at me as if I was insane for questioning him, which in some way I agree with him, but at that moment I was so tangled with doubt that no one
I opened the door and saw Jordan talking to other gang members or whatever. I felt like I had only a few hours to save Mike, and my training to shoot wasn't going to help me. I got in the middle of their conversation and pushed Jordan to the side even though he was the leader of the gang and I should've at least waited for them to finish whatever they were talking about.
"I hope that whatever you're doing is worth pulling me over for an important conversation!" He warned.
"It is, I hope..." I said "We need to go to Marina's Village now!!"
"Why?" He asked.
"Cause Mike called me and said he was being held captive, captive!" I continued to clamor.
"Ok, ok..." He seemed ready to send two of his men to go to Marina's village.
Jordan walked to the outside of his house and called Lin and another guy, he told them the orders and strictly told them to not kill the villagers which it made relieved since I didn't want to commit any murder through the search for Mike. Lin looked confident he was going to save Mike, even though they talked only two times and had no affection for each other.
It felt good that people were willing to help, even though it seemed like such a crazy idea. Lin told me to go with him and we would be ready to leave. I hopped on the back of his dark red motorcycle and placed the gun into the left side of my pants pockets. I was ready for something I never knew I would be ready for. It was on these moments that I would really question reality, was that really happening? Or was I dreaming? I question that a lot as you might have seen
We drove off into the long highway filled with nothing but dust, I looked around and saw the silhouette of Plateaus and mountains as the night fell upon us. It was a beautiful night, sadly I wouldn't be able to appreciate it.
