Chapter Fifteen : Sunrise
JOHN'S DIARY : Mike's body was standing still and ready to do what he wanted to do so badly. I had a weird feeling the minute we stepped into that mansion, I knew Mike wasn't there to just get answers about my father, he had a secret revenge that wasn't a secret, I just simply ignored it. I stood still looking at what was happening. It wasn't that hard to figure it out. Mike was doing what he always wanted, especially after knowing that my father only died because of him in some way, he was doing what he thought was the right thing to do and he would finish what he started. It was pouring down rain and all I could see was the one light shining on us in the middle of the Sun's lair.
"Mike-" I cautiously walked a little bit closer to him.
"John please step away!" He stared at his father who was on his knees.
"Okay okay..." I stepped away yet being alert to Mike's every move "But d-do you see what you're doing?"
"What?!" Mike asked, sharply. I could see his fingers getting ready to pull the trigger.
"Y-you're pointing a gun at your-father!"
"A father doesn't try to kill his son-" His anger got elevated "Right Daniel?!"
Daniel stayed with a blank face as he focused on the white pistol being pointed at him.
"Say it Daniel!" Mike veins popped out "Say how bad of a father you are! How you destroy people's lives and treat them like a piece of trash!"
Daniel held his breath for a minute before opening his mouth;
"I'm a-bad-father." He said vacantly.
"Damn right you are!!" Mike continued to furiously scream at the top of his lungs like a war cry.
As Mike shouted at Daniel, I moved myself closer to Mike without him noticing, each step I took I prayed he wouldn't just shoot his father out of terror. The storm above us was getting stronger and we could hear the trees falling down close to us, the sound of ambulances alerted us. A chill down my spine came as I thought of how bad things were at that moment.
"Mike, listen to me!" I shouted, but rather calmly "You know this is not you!"
"He needs to pay!" Mike continued to shout even though I was close to him.
"He does, and h-he will!" I continued, "But this part isn't for us to decide!"
"How do you know John?" Mike held the gun more securely. "He killed your father, and tried to kill us and my sister!"
"And now look at him!" I glanced my watery eyes towards Daniel "He is now down on his knees getting ready to die! Mike, don't do this!"
"He will get away if I don't do this!" Mike explained fearfully.
"No he won't!" I got closer to him "W-we have proof remember?"
"Proof-" Mike whispered to himself, which made me think I was getting somewhere "Take my phone!"
"Mike-"
"Take my phone damn it!"
I ran quickly towards his backpack and found his phone. I rushed to where he was, this time I was closer to him. Daniel was with his eyes closed.
"Are the photos still there?" Mike asked with trembling with the cold.
I looked rapidly through the phone's gallery and found all the pictures; of not not only the possible illegal weed farm, but also the grave with my father's initials. As I turned off the phone, a sign of guilt swallowed me; no matter what we would do, the outcome wouldn't change for my father, he was still some place I would never reach.
