12 months later

I have been traveling with the dwarves, gandalf and Bilbo the hobbit for 12 months now. It seemed the dwarves were warming up to me. Especially kili and Fili. But the only who wasn't all to fond of me at all was of course Thorin.

I learned not to long ago, they were on there way to kill Smaug who made rest in the Lone Mountains where there home was. But I was still unsure of why I was needed here. My powers were dying and I wasn't great at fighting. Though I was getting a little better with the help of Fili and Kili who taught me some techniques.

Now we were all standing in the woods waiting for Bilbo to get back. And before we knew it he came running towards us completely out of breath.

"What did you see?" Thorin demanded

Bilbo looked up at him nervously then fumbled his hand around in his pocket as if ready to grab something and spoke.

"Well... it wasn't a what more like a-"

ROAAAARR!

We looked amongst each other edging on slight fear at the sound of a large bear came close behind and suddenly its large body rammed through the trees. Many scars scattered his hide and his face gave a more humanoid appearance.

Our screams came hushed, due to the panic drowning our cheasts and started for the other way, not far behind the bear followed.

Passing through the trees and then out onto a grassy knoll far ahead the was a house. Once we made it to the hummble cottage we slammed the doors shut locking them with a long heavy wooden stick. The bear pummeled into the doors multiple times trying to get through but failed. He soon gave up and we listened as the heavy beast slowly went away.

I gave a sigh of relief. That whole adrenaline rush almost gave me a heart attack. I wandered from the huffing dwarves leaning against the wall tired from the travels and tired from my powers. There was a blamed I then left on myself, thinking how I failed to help the dwarves on many occasions where my power's barely functioned.

It was all on me and my powers but never him. He was the real reason i was fading but i never wanted to blame him. Partly because i still loved him and still had hope.

"Get some rest. We shall journey in the morning." Gandalf said and I noticed as he glanced over at me worriedly and walked over.

"Are you ok mellon."

I nodded and laid back onto a pile of hay. But Gandalf did not believe me.

"Your fading. I understand if your not ok." He spoke once more

"No you don't understand!" I regretted my way of the rude tone that came from me and turned away, resting on a bale of hay.

Gandalf sighed. "You will not have to suffer anymore. We're almost there." He said but I didnt hear since I had already fallen into a deep sleep.
