Thursday, April 17th, XXXX - 6:37pm

(Y/n) sat on the couch in Mikasa's dorm living room, textbooks spread out around her as she half-watched the television. Classes had ended an hour ago, and now she was waiting for her best friend's return, who had promised to bring back cookies and other treats from the grocery store.

She glanced at the time on her phone again, sighing as the minutes ticked by with still no sign of Mikasa.

"It's been like... forever! Where is sheeeeeee?" (Y/n) groaned childishly, catching Bruce's attention. The dog lifted his head, ears perked, and gave her a curious look. "Man, I hope I lent enough money... I got paid yesterday," she mused, reaching over to scratch behind Bruce's ears.

Just then, the door swung open, and Mikasa entered with a cheerful greeting, juggling several grocery bags while digging through a small bag from the drugstore.

"You're back! Man, I missed you!" (Y/n) exclaimed, hopping up from the couch. "Bruce is great company and all, but he unfortunately can't carry a conversation and—"

"Can I ask you something?" Mikasa interrupted, her tone serious but not unkind.

"O-Oh, sure. What is it?" (Y/n) replied, sensing the shift in Mikasa's demeanor.

"Since that Tuesday morning, you've been vomiting... either really early in the morning or around 9 and 10 a.m. And... you've been emotionally sensitive, too," Mikasa began carefully.

"I-I'm sorry... I know it's burdensome. I can get seen by a doctor if you'd like—" (Y/n) started, her voice tinged with concern.

"Hold on now, girlfriend. I need you to listen carefully and consider what I'm about to ask," Mikasa said, placing the grocery and drugstore bags on the couch.

(Y/n) noticed the extra bag for the first time. "W-What...?" she asked, a hint of apprehension creeping into her voice.

"(Y/n)... when was your last period?" Mikasa asked, leaning against the couch as she waited for an answer.

"U-Um, it was last month, at the beginning of March," (Y/n) answered hesitantly.

"And when were you supposed to start again?" Mikasa pressed gently.

"Uhhh... either last week or..." Realization dawned on (Y/n), her eyes widening with a mix of fear and disbelief. "No, no, it's not that... anything but that..."

"I thought so..." Mikasa reached into the CVS bag and pulled out a pink box.

"Woah... No—why—" (Y/n) stammered, her heart racing.

"(Y/n), I think you're pregnant," Mikasa said softly but directly.

"That's... that's impossible! Levi and I have been using protection—" (Y/n) protested, shaking her head.

"Then either a condom broke, or you guys got lazy one night and risked it. (Y/n), if you're really pregnant, then you need to know. And more importantly, you have to tell Levi." Mikasa's brows knitted in concern. "This isn't just a baby; it's a lifetime responsibility. You HAVE to take it seriously."

"Like I don't know that! But I don't think I... he and I haven't even talked about it—" (Y/n) exclaimed, her voice rising with anxiety.

"I know. And that's nerve-wracking, I understand," Mikasa said soothingly, placing the grocery bag on the coffee table. "But you and he have to hash things out. By now, he's forgiven you and misses you. Hell, Armin told me that he, Erwin, Eren, and Furlan have been spending time with him to keep him company, and he's still depressed because he believes you're planning to divorce him!"
