Conor’s POV

I ran into the hospital and ran straight to the reception, panting as I spoke to the very well presented woman sitting behind the desk, her glasses half way down her nose. She looked at me over the rims of the glasses.

“Can I help you, Sir?” She said calmly before her eyes widened and she bit her bottom lip. “Oh My God! You’re Conor Maynard!” She squealed. I nodded.

“Yeah! That’s me!” I giggled.

“I absolutely love you!” She blurted, looking embarrassed straight after she’d said it. “You and Ella are, like, the perfect couple!” She smiled. “And I don’t believe any rumours about you!” She clasped her hands on the desk.

“Thank you!” I hurried her up, I didn’t have time right now to be listening to fans. Any other time would be fine. “That’s actually who I came to see? Ella. She was bought in.” Her jaw dropped.

“Oh God! Is everything alright?” She asked, concerned.

“She went into labour!” I exclaimed. “But she’s not due yet. I have no idea what’s going on but I had to drive here with my manager, so I couldn’t be in the ambulance and I don’t know where she is!” I blabbed out so quickly I barely understood what I said.

“Well, let me just check on the system and make a few calls!” She winked at me and began typing furiously on the computer.

“Mmh thanks!” I say unenthusiastically. I walk out of the hospital and wave at Ben sitting eagerly in my car. He jumps out, locking it and runs towards me.

“Whats going on?” He spat.

“The receptionist is making some calls, I don’t think I’ll be able to see her!” I stood there, feeling like the whole world and his brother were on my shoulders. My legs were going to give up on me sooner or later.

“Conor, it’s alright. Calm down. They just wanna make sure everything is alright for you all!” He put his hand on my shoulder, adding to the weight. I smiled at him.

“Yeah I guess. Thanks.” I half smiled back. I never realised, but there was a nice breeze out here, and as the cold wind hit my burning face, it helped calm me down. I took a deep breath in and out before I turned round to walk back into the hospital with Ben stuck to my side.

“Ok, thank you!” The receptionist put the phone down and again looked at us over the rim of her glasses. “Hi! I rang round, she’s had to have a caesarean section, the baby is out and alive but you’ll have to wait a bit of time before you can see her I’m afraid.” Her face dropped as she spoke, as did mine. This is all I needed! I pinch the top of my nose with my fingers and breathe in and out heavily again.

“Thank you!” I attempted to smile at the woman, who had so many layers of makeup on it was difficult to actually read some of the facial expressions she had. Ben and I walked to the side.

“What you gonna do?” Ben asked, not sounding like a manager anymore – More like a friend.

“I’m gonna sit with Jack.” I said, sighing. “I need to be with a familiar face.” Ben put his hand on my shoulder and smiled. “I’ll be outside making calls.” He smiled, turning abruptly to storm out of the hospital. I slowly walked towards Jack’s room, my legs feeling heavy and worn out. I couldn’t barely pick my feet up as I walked, meaning I trudged along, dragging my feet behind me. Everything was going round in my head; I just needed my brother there to support me. I pushed the door open to be greeted with PDA (public display of affection). A nurse was leant over Jack’s bed making out with him.

“Yeah. Hi.” I bluntly said, stopping the two of them in their tracks. The nurse stood bolt upright and straightened herself off. Jack shot me an angry glare.
