Falling

Chapter 1

Marinette's POV :

I woke up late again. Tikki didn't try to wake me when my alarm went off. Where is Tikki?

I reach for my earrings to make sure they're still there. I can't feel them. Where are they?

I sit up and start panicking. I check everywhere in my room. No luck. As I was about to look all over again, I notice the time. I'm two hours late.

I quickly get dressed and run to school. I'll find my earrings afterwards.

I make it to our classroom just in time.

Teacher : Nice of you to join us Marinette. We do have an important exam after all.

We have an exam?! Shit! I didn't study.

The teacher hands us out papers and sits in the front everyone seems to be finding it easy, handing their papers in after about five minutes.

I can feel tears pricking my eyes.

I don't know any of this!

As the bell rings, the teachers takes my empty paper and gives me a disappointment filled look.

Teacher : I can't believe you didn't answer a single question! Are you really that stupid?!

My friends are all laughing at me.

Adrien : Do you really think you have a chance? You're the dumbest bitch I know!

I can't hold back anymore and I run out of the classroom.
I run as far as my legs can carry me and end up near the Seine where I fall to my knees and start sobbing.

I'm so useless!

I keep crying until I spot an Akuma coming towards me.

Maybe I should let him win? I already lost Tikki. My friends hate me and I'd be better off dead anyway...

The Akuma lands on my purse.

The last thing I say before the darkness takes over is : "Yes Hawkmoth" .

I wake up to my alarm ringing loudly in my ear. I check my earlobes to find out that it was all just a dream. A very bad dream...

It's 7am. I still have a lot of time to get ready. I get out of bed and go shower.

The cool water helps me think straight and cool down before having to face the hot weather. After my shower I put on some large colorful striped shorts with a white crop top and some sandals. I don't know what to do with my hair, so I decide to tie it up in a high ponytail.

Maybe I should go to the hairdresser's... It's getting a bit too long... I'll make an appointment for Saturday morning.

I do my makeup before exiting the bathroom. Tikki comes over.

Tikki : Good morning Mari! You're up early!

Marinette : Good morning Tikki!

I give her a cookie and eat some breakfast before we get going.

I make it to class early for once. Nobody's there to talk to, so I pull out my sketchbook and let my mind wander.

°Time skip°

The classroom slowly filled up with loud students talking and laughing with their friends. My friends on the other hand were nowhere in sight. Not that I noticed. I was too busy working on a design I found particularly good. Too busy working on the design, I hadn't noticed the bell ring, the teacher entering the room or Alya sitting down next to me.
