Marinette's POV :

I don't want to be late... Not today...

I'm driving as fast as I can, taking as many shortcuts as possible, but I know it's not going to be enough. I can just feel it.

The cherry on the cake? TWO roads were blocked due to robberies!

I manage to pull into the parking lot in front of the school being only five minutes late. I then procede to run into the building to the receptionist's desk.

Marinette : Hello, I'm Marinette.... I have an appointment about the fashion program...

The receptionist tipes something into her computer.

Receptionist : You're five minutes late, so the person supposed to go in after you got your place. You will have to wait a while before going in. The waiting room is at the end of this corridor.

Marinette : Thank you so much.

I walk to the waiting room while admiring the school's architecture. I sit down as I enter the waiting room and decide to sketch something, anything. I know how my mind gets with these things and I definitely need to keep myself busy.

°Time skip°

After about an hour of seeing different people walk in and out of the office, my name finally gets called.

I get up and quickly fix my skirt before walking into the office. I'm very nervous. I can hear my heart is beating loudly inside my chest. It's so loud, I believe everyone in the room can hear it. This thought causes my mind to race.

They must think I'm so unprofessional... I was late at the worst possible time!

One of my gloved hands moves to the bottom of my skirt and plays with it.

Mx. Lee, the head of the fashion program, is sitting at their desk eyeing me suspiciously. Meanwhile, I try my best to keep my nerves under control by doing some breathing exercises. I don't want to have a panic attack in front of the person who could become my teacher in a year's time.

Mx. Lee previously worked alongside a lot of my favorite fashion designers. Their work is known around the world. They started their own brand at the age of eighteen, starting with commissions for a family friend who needed an unusual dress for an important event they were attending. The guests fell in love with Lee's design and asked their friend for their number. Mx. Lee's popularity grew at an increbly fast rate, becoming most celebrities personal designer in a few months. Their brand opened shops in all of the big cities across the globe. It stayed the number one brand for years until Mx. Lee sold it. When they announced that they wanted to quit the fashion industry to become a professor, the whole world was dumbstruck. What shocked them even more, was Lee's decision to set up their courses in Gotham of all places. This person was my idol alongside Gabriel Agreste. I never thought that I would get to meet them in person.

I must have made a terrible first impression...

Mx. Lee : Good afternoon, you must be... Miss Dupain-Cheng? Correct?

Marinette : Y-yes, that's me.

Mx. Lee : Very well. Sit down.

I sat down and handed them my portfolio. They opened it up and eyed it suspiciously. Looking at every single detail of each design.

I felt like they were about to open their mouth and tell me everything was bad. That I would never be a fashion designer and to just give up, before listing every single thing wrong with each design.
