Alice

Jasper had been cold to me all day and I was getting annoyed. So I decided to ask his sister Rosalie what was going on.

"He's been ignoring me too." She says with a sigh. "It's been really weird."

"How long has it been going on?" I ask.

"Ever since P.E the other day when the quarterback on the football team tried to touch me."

I almost stop breathing. "Rose, Jazz is gonna fight him."

"What? How do you know that?"

"He shut us both out and put his walls up."

"Oh god." She groans. "We have to stop him!"

"How?"

"I don't know. Think of something fast though."

We run off across the schoolyard. Luckily it was the end of the day, so the crowd of students and teachers was thinning out, making it easier to spot the tall blond eventually.

"Jasper Grayson Whitlock-Hale, what the hell do you think you're doing?" Rosalie hisses at her twin.

All she gets in response is a sharp glare and she shrinks back a little.

"Jazz," I plead. "Don't shut us out. I know you're angry, but there's a better way."

He stops for a moment. "He deserves this Alice." Then he walks off.

It takes every ounce of energy I have to keep up with his long stride until I'm standing on top of the retaining wall, eye level with him.

I send him a glare of my own and get one in return. We stare each other down for a moment until he tries to walk off again.

I thrust my hand out and grab his shoulder, pulling him back. Then I do something I never thought I'd have the guts to do: kiss him.

I crash my lips onto his and he jumps a little, startled by the sudden movement.

"Alice?" He says a while later when I pull away. All the anger had disappeared, only to be replaced with confusion.

"I have been waiting so long to do that." I admit.

He stares at me, still shocked and probably in the midst of processing everything.

"Jazz?" I ready myself for the worst case scenario.

A small smirk spreads across his mouth. "If that was your way of asking me to be your boyfriend, then it worked."

"You idiot," I say in false exasperation. "just shut up and kiss me."

"Yes ma'am." Our lips meet and it's a welcoming feeling. It feels so right.

"Will you be my boyfriend?" I mumble into the kiss.

He pulls back a little and gives me a soft smile. "Yeah, Alice. I will."

I tear up a bit and he gently wipes away the fallen ones with the pads of his thumbs.
I snake my arms around his neck and he wraps his around my waist and kisses me again.

"The others will be ecstatic." I laugh when we pull apart.

"Definitely."

"Soooo," I purse my lips. "you still thinking about fighting that kid from P.E?"

Jazz laughs. "Not anymore. I'm pretty occupied at the moment."

"With what?"

"Wondering how I got so lucky to end up with you."

I giggle and blush. "Who knew you were such a hopeless romantic?"

"Don't tell Rose. I'd never hear the end of it." He smiles.

"Your secret is safe with me." I check my watch. "I should get going. Homework and chores and stuff."

"Yeah, same. And I should go find my sister."

"Call later?"

He nods and pulls me in for one last kiss, then he's gone.

I sigh happily, feeling like I'm on cloud nine the rest of the day.
