Jasper
I was working on something in the garage when frustration hits me and I let out a groan and some choice words.
"Daddy?" A voice says from behind me and I look up and turn around.
"Hey kiddo, how long have you been standing there?"
"Not long."
I notice something in her hands and I gesture toward the decorated object.
"What do you have there?"
She turns it around, and in neat calligraphy on the front, the words "swear jar" comes into view.
"I heard you say some words." She smiles a bit and holds the jar out in front of her.
I sigh and roll my eyes as I fish out a 5 and place it in the jar. "Your mother put you up to this, didn't she?"
"No daddy, I thought of it all by myself."
"Oh really?" I pick her up and she squeals. "Where'd the jar come from and why does it have your mother's handwriting on it?"
Thea giggles and shrugs. "I don't know."
I roll my eyes again and press a kiss to her head. "Where exactly is all that money going towards, kiddo?"
"I want a bicycle." She says bluntly and I laugh.
"Well little love, I applaud your efforts." I kiss her head again and set her down. "Go see if you can get any money out of Uncle Emmett or Uncle Peter."
She bolts off down the path toward the creek and I can't help but laugh.

Alice
"Hey how'd it go?" I ask as Jazz walks into our room and sits at the foot of the bed, watching me while I fold laundry.
"Eh, might need to tinker with it a bit more. Or bring it into a shop."
"As much as I love the fact that you and Rose are trying to fix up Bella's old truck, babe, that thing belongs in a scrap pile."
"Believe me, Alice. I know."
He studies my face for a moment before speaking up again.
"Soooo..." He draws out.
"So what?"
"Thea and the swear jar."
"Oh, did she get you?"
He raises an eyebrow and I giggle. "She wants a bike, Jazz. I just offered some suggestions. She didn't want to do a bake sale or a lemonade stand, so I thought that maybe a swear jar was a good option instead."
"Don't know whether to be annoyed at you or not."
"You can think about that later. For now though, you need to watch your back. Especially because you have the tendency to swear like a sailor."
"That sounded like a threat, darlin'."
"Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. But if you are gonna swear about it, don't let Thea hear you."
Jasper playfully swats at my arm and I laugh again.
"Seriously though, cowboy. Watch yourself."
"Yes ma'am." He says teasingly. "Love you Alice."
"Love you too, Jazz."
