Jasper

I got a call from my sister one afternoon when I was working on something outside. I wipe the sweat off my forehead and answer the phone.

"Hey Rose, what's up?"

"He's here."

"Who's here?" I ask.

"Jazz," she sighs. "remember the kid Emmett and I adopted?"

Something clicks. "Oh my god, he's here?"

"Yes!" She says excitedly. "We're here at the hospital. Alice is going to give him a check up before we head home."

I head inside to clean up. "Alright, let me clean up, then me and Thea will head over."

"See you in a bit." And the line disconnects.

I take a quick shower and redress, not bothering to mess with my hair at all. I put on my hat, jacket and clean boots, grab my wallet and keys then go to wake up my daughter from her nap.

I gently shake her awake and she stirs. "Daddy?" The five year old mumbles.

"Hey little love, wanna go to the hospital to see Mommy, Auntie Rose, and Uncle Emmett?"

She perks up. "Why?"

"It's a surprise." I say with a smile.

She sits up. "Okay, but I've gotta go to the bathroom first."

I nod and ruffle her nest of blonde curls, which she unfortunately inherited from me. "I'll wait downstairs."

A few minutes later, we're on our way to the hospital and I have trouble containing my excitement. I can tell Thea's feeling the same way.

We make it inside and Thea books it right into Alice's arms. "Mommy!"

"Hey sweetie." She greets with a smile which only grows wider when she sees me.

"How are you, darlin'?" I ask as I pull her into a hug.

"Tired." She buries her face into my stomach.

"You're almost done." I reassure her. "You've got this." I kiss the top of her head.

"One more check up." She says with a small sigh. "At least it's for family."

I kiss her head again and grab her free hand and start walking down the hall, keeping a close eye on our little girl who walks in front of us.

"Ready to meet your new cousin?" I ask her.

"Cousin?" Thea turns around, her eyes wide.

"Yeah, kiddo."

"Yes!" She squeals then pauses. "Mommy, Daddy, do I get to have a new brother or sister soon?"

Alice and I look at each other then back at her. "Do you want one?" Alice asks, a bit wearily.

"Duh." Is all I hear as she giggles and skips off before we can say anything else.

"Thea!" I hiss then sigh.

"Don't worry, we'll find her before she wreaks havoc."

"I hope so." I sigh again.

We continue walking and I'm jolted out of my thoughts when Alice hold on my hand tightens.

"What is it, love?" I ask my wife.

"Is it possible for us to have anymore children?" She wonders.

"Not of our own." I reply sadly. "We can always look into fostering or adoption."

Alice nods and stops, then laughs. "Looks like Thea found the room before us."

"Clever girl." I say with a small smirk and she snickers at my Jurassic Park reference.

"Jazz, don't scare the poor kid, alright?"

"Yes ma'am." I roll my eyes.

We enter the room quietly, my free hand grabbing hold of the back of Thea's shirt to prevent her from running off again.

"Hey, little sister." I greet.

"Jasper." My twin greets back softly.

"Thanks for coming, guys." Emmett says in an unusually calm tone.

"This is more of your family." Rosalie tells the child sitting next to her and my heart melts at the sight of how small and timid he looks.

"Family?" He asks with a bit of an accent. British maybe?

"Yeah, kiddo." Emmett responds. "That's your Aunt Alice and Uncle Jasper. But you can call him Uncle Jazz. And that's Thea, your cousin, she's not much older than you."

Thea wrenches herself out of my grasp and plops down on the bed next to the boy.

"Hi, welcome to the family! We're gonna be great friends."

She gets a small smile in response and they shake hands. All of us exchange a look when they hug.

"Does he have a name?" Alice asks as she begins the check up.

"Henry." Rose informs us. "After our father." She glances up at me and we smile at each other. "His full name is Henry McCarty Whitlock-Hale Cullen."

"I'm so proud of you, Rosie. You've waited so long for this." I kiss her cheek.

"Thank you, big brother." She squeezes my hand.

"Welcome to the family, Henry." I tell him. "You'll fit in just fine."
