Sunday November 4, 2029

We woke up in the morning to see the ground all covered in snow. There wasn't as much snow as they predicted but enough to dust the ground.

"Can we go outside and have fun in the snow?" Grant asked during breakfast.

"Sorry pal but there's very little out there. We can't make snowballs with that little of snow." James said. He went outside to walk Lady and saw how much has fallen.

"Guess they exaggerated the snow on last night's news! It does look like a dusting of snow fell." I said. I went outside at one point and saw the driveway. We don't get a newspaper but I went out anyway to get a walk in for myself. No ice either.

"Guess your weatherman knows very little when it comes to snow." Scott said. He was reading the newspaper he bought this morning from our local gas station. Everyone has been outside except for our sons.

"Don't worry guys, we'll go outside later and you'll get to see how much snow is on the ground." I reassured them. "Is it extremely cold out there?" I asked.

"If you're asking me, I'd say it's getting there. What do you say big guy?" Scott said and asked James.

"It's cold enough to wear a coat. Not one with a collar but definitely one like our lightweight, lined ones." James said.

"About that, where can I get one? I will be here for the rest of week and leave either on Wednesday or Thursday of next week." Scott asked.

"We can take you there. I know where to find those too." James said as he drank his coffee. This time we were eating a coffee cake. I baked a cinnamon swirl coffee cake yesterday evening. I'm in the nesting phase now and want to bake and cook for everyone.

"Sounds good to me. When are we going?" Scott asked.

"Today while the others are gone and enjoying their first run on the slopes!" James energetically said.

"Well I am in Tahoe and lots of folks here like to ski. That's understandable." Scott said.

"Yeah, the ski resorts or lodges start opening up right about now. They make fake snow to get skiers skiing if needed but they hold off when natural snow falls." I explained.

"OK, well I'm ready whenever you are!" Scott said.

"Great! We'll go now." James said as he finished his coffee. All them are dressed for the day while Grant and Bailey are not. I'm in comfortable sweatpants and a t-shirt a little too big for me. I'm still growing. Also, I'm wearing oversized sneakers borrowed from James/Bucky! My feet are spreading and have swollen ankles today.

"We can go as soon as I'm done with my breakfast." James said. "Are you going to be OK with the boys?" He asked me as he turned my way.

"Yes, I'll take care of them getting dressed. Maybe I'll take them outside while you're gone." I answered.

"OK, if you need anything please text me. I'll be here as soon as I can." James said and kissed my forehead.

"I'll do just that. You two have fun looking for those jackets." I said as he gently hugged me.

"We'll be back before you know it." James said as they left.

As soon as they were gone, all of us went upstairs and I helped our sons get dressed.

"What are we going to do today? Also what day is it?" Grant asked.

"Today is Sunday and we are going to stay home while we enjoy the day." I said I helped him pulling on his shirt as his arms were raised in the air. "Do you have anything in mind?" I asked him.
