NELLIE

I cringe at the sight of me wearing heels. I've never been a fan of heels because one, I'm already tall & I'm probably at the height of 6'2 with heels on. Two, it will attract attention to me. & three, I can't stand nor walk in them.

I walk around the room attempting to learn how to walk in them but my ankles keep giving out on me making me stumble.

Nala walks in & smiles brightly at me, her makeup is well done & the creamy white dress she's wearing makes her dark skin glow more.

"You look beautiful." I speak stunned & she smiles showing off her perfect pearly whites.

"Thank you but look at you though! You are beautiful." She grabbed my hand & twirled me around. My ankle goes side ways & I stumble, Nala stops me from falling.

"Don't break your ankle now." She laughs & I sigh.

"Can you hand me those sandals please? I'm not going to embarrass myself in front of these rich white people." I held my hand out & Nala handed me the white sandals.

"Thank you." I whisper & she smiles. I sit on the small white bench & remove the heels kicking them aside. I massage my ankle to ease the slight pain on it before placing the sandals on my feet.

I smile. I stand & look at myself in the mirror satisfied. The dress is beautiful. The light shade of pink made my skin glow. Nala stands behind me with a smile. She pokes my cheek making my heart warm.

"S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G." She spelled out & I smile.

"Thank you." I whisper.

"I'll meet you downstairs." I back away & she places a soft kiss on my cheek. I leave the room & head downstairs to where the engagement party is being held.

I look around & sigh. I don't know any of these people. I try not to put too much attention on myself as I carefully walk down the steps. I begin feeling self conscious as they keep their gazes on me. I gulp.

People greet me kindly & I smile at them, greeting each of them with respect & a smile. I walk pass them & head over to the bar ordering a water.

"Rich people." I whisper to myself.

Nala's fiancé, Angelo Valentino, booked this venue & it's beautiful. The place is decorated beautifully in white & gold.

The bartender hands me my cup of water & I thank him earning a smile from him. I look around & check the time. They both should be coming down in a few minutes.

I feel a strong presence behind me & I turn around, I'm met with a dark gaze. I tilt my head & stare at the familiar looking man. I smile & he chuckles.

"If it isn't miss dramatic." He smiles showing off his perfect row of pearly whites & dimples.

"If it isn't Mr. can't drive." I respond & he laughs.

"Mhm." He hums.

As I'm about to open my mouth & ask what he's doing here, everyone goes silent & slow music begins playing. I shift my gaze onto my sister & her fiancé making their way down the steps.
