OUTCAST CHAPTER: TEN

"If you called me last too, I would always show up first."

32 minutes had passed, When Eun had finally calmed down. Augus parted her to see her eyes bloodshot red, and cheeks were puffed out, she looked adorable, and Augus couldn't stop himself from smiling, Which showed his infamous gummy smile. "Now, mind telling me.. why were you crying?" Augus asked as Eun pointed with her finger to the red diary next to the door frame. Augus walked to the diary, and picked it up. He opened it, And widened his eyes. "This...is" "Yes, Eun Dal's dairy." Augus started as Eun ended. "But Areum, why is this with you?" Augus inquired. "I don't know, it was in that box." Eun pointed out to the scattered box. The cardboard box looked old, and in smudged writing, It was written : 'KIM FAMILY'S MEMORY'

-

The box contained, Areum's mother's diaries, Areum's father's suit and tie, and his journals, Kim Dal's dairy and some dresses, and the baby pink dress with little flowers covered in red at the back. Which was Dal's blood. The dress she wore before she took her own life. "Why do you keep these things Areum? You can't move on! Don't keep these here! They'll make you sadder everyday. It's okay if you want to keep these, I'll keep it far far away here. Somewhere hidden." (Eun's full name is Eun Areum, Eun is her surname, which she likes being called since Areum makes her remember the sad memories from the past.) "Augus, Thank you so much, for always being here." Augus smiled tenderly, his gummy smile on full display. "I will be here, every single day." Augus spoke as he whispered the last words, Eun heard them, but pretended not to. "So, get to sleep, you need to attend to Jung tomorrow." Eun smiled at his words, but was confused. "What happened when Jung slashed my neck?" Eun asked. Augus spoke. "Well...."

FLASHBACK

"Del, stop." Eun spoke to the boy, who was tracing her neck, with the penknife. She knew it wasn't him. It was her all along. She knew that.

-

Mai remembered that she needed to give Eun, Jung's medicines. So she took the tray and walked to the department when she met Augus. "Hey! Augus! I need your help, let's go down together and give Eun, Jung's medicines." Mai spoke to Augus, "Nope, I need sleep, you go ahead." Augus spoke and walked away to the restroom. A nurse ran by her and picked up the phone and hurriedly spoke. " Code red, Code Red, injured doctor. Dr. Eun Areum attacked by Patient 1462." Mai widened her eyes as she ran to Eun's room, with Jude, a male doctor who heard it.

-

"EUN!" Mai screamed as she held the bleeding doctor and the doctor injected the patient with the medicine. Jung fell unconscious onto the bed as They took Eun to the Medical room. And The doctors treated her wound and stitched up, making sure it wouldn't leave a scar. That's when Mai entered, "EUN!"

-FLASHBACK ENDS-

"Augus! You ditched me for sleep!" Eun dramatically put her hand on her chest as if she were hurt. "I didn't know, okay?" Augus retorted sarcastically. "No wonder, you're so single as a lonely caterpillar.. Go like this and you'll end up marrying your bed." Eun shot back laughing as Augus frowned. "Are you not a lonely caterpillar? You're not so high-and-mighty yourself." Augus cackled. "Hey!"

"Del. Please do not now. Not now please." Jung spoke, emphasising each word. "Why? This is why I told you, murder that stupid doctor, she's drawing lines between us." Jung's eyes shot up. "Del please stop it, You don't mean it, do....you?" "Yes, I mean it. Herman, Susan and Diana mean it too." The three silhouettes of the three fictional characters nodded in sync. "YES WE DO!" Herman shouted his lungs out, followed by Susan and Diana. The three started ghosting him, they kept whispering, his mind, ears, everything filled in 'kill her' kept haunting him, the insulin coma therapy helped since they didn't come when she was unconscious. Next day, Jung was given a book and a pencil by Eun and told to write what he felt to do. He wrote the following poem:

'HER'

Oh, how the scent of you intoxicated me.

I am not herby worthy to stand next 'you'

Such adorable perfect creation;

'you' were perfect both outside, as well as inside the depth of 'your' heart.

Fluttering, tickling, The sweet yet bitter and the most beautiful emotions sprouted in me.

When 'her' silhouette came into vision, 'Her' intoxicatingly mesmerising voice sang.

Oh! Was the sunset pretty? 'no'

Oh! Was the nightly skies glazed with the beautiful fairy lights pretty? 'no'

Why? 'Cause 'her' presence, 'her' beauty, enchanted me. I loved it. It was painful.

It was everything I wished for. Everything, I ever needed.

But, none of those were true. It wasn't, none of it.

Turns out, It never happened. What type of hell is this?

Yet it was painful. Beautiful pain. And I loved the Torture

Every second I spended in that pain. It was Pain. Everything was painful.

But 'Her' presence made it feel worth it, even when it was not.

----Jung Abel Parker

Right after this, Eun smiled fondly at the boy, she got up and walked towards the stand, and filled a syringe with his medicine, while Jung was still trying to fight the voices inside his head, it was lust. Lust for blood. That's what Del wanted. She wanted the crimson red to stain her or him. She wanted to kill someone just for the sheer sake of the lust, She wanted to taint his innocent hands, hands that helped, hands that loved, hands that cared. She wanted them to be in the hands of a heartless murderer. But he didn't want to., No matter what, He will always think of the principle his religion taught him. Never Kill, Always forgive. He wanted to keep this, He wanted to end this. But, the poor boy didn't know-how. "Eun! Hpelp me! Please do! Help mmee, use the insuliness shochjllk!" Jung cried out to Eun, he fell down, at the attempt, and sobbed to her. Eun's eyes softened. His distorted words hit her. She didn't think twice and called for Augus.

Oh, How she wished she would have thought twice before calling the nurse..
