Chapter 4: Two Toddlers And A Baby

Anne, Luz, and Molly were playing together in Anne's backyard. Their mothers were watching them from inside the house, while Mr Boonchuy and Pete were out to go sightseeing around the city, probably going job hunting for Pete as well.

Molly was busy touching the grass as Anne sits down besides her "Heya Molls. What'cha doing over here?"

Molly looked at her while tapping the grass "Anne...glass" she spoke to her the best she could as it's been only a couple of weeks since she started speaking

"Aww, you're so silly. It's not glass it's grass" Anne pulls Molly into a hug making the baby giggle as she puts Molly on her lap

"Hey girls look look!" Luz approached them holding something in her right hand "I saw a dirt pile over there and dug my hand inside it. You wanna know what I found inside?" she showed them that it was a gummy worm in her hand

"Free worm!" Luz ate the candy much to Anne's disgust and Molly's confusion "Eww Luz why?"

Luz laughed at her reaction "Don’t worry. It's not an actual worm and I didn't dig into any dirt pile"

Anne sighs in relief before noticing that Molly was looking at the sky "What are you looking at Moll?"

Molly looks at Anne before she points at a few clouds in the sky "Hah!"

"Oh. Molly those are called clouds"

"Couds?"

"No, clouds. They are water that form together in the sky"

"Eye?"

"Sky. If the clouds get big enough it will rain, and when it rains the water comes down to the ground. When it rains we usually stay inside our houses, but if you want to you can stay outside to play in the rain. But unless you have a raincoat or an umbrella, your mom would probably not allow you to go outside during the rain. Because then you'll get sick and we don't want that to happen now would we?"

Molly tilted her head not understanding what Anne said. Luz sits down besides them and gave Molly a pat on the head "You'll understand it when you are older Molly, trust us"

Luz yawns and laid down on the grass

"What are you doing Luz?" Anne asked

"I wanna gaze up to the clouds on the sky while laying down. You two wanna join?"

"Hmm. Sure why not, come on Molly"

Anne puts Molly between her and Luz. So they all lay down together to gaze at the sky.

"Wow, the sky today is pretty isn't it?"

"Yes it is"

Not an hour or so later. The girls all drifted into an afternoon nap together. With Anne and Luz protectively securing Molly in the middle like two adult birds to a baby bird.

Hours later as the sun is about to set. Molly wakes up from her nap with a little yawn and looks at her two older friends on each side. She then looked up to the sky only to find that it was no longer blue but rather orange in color.

She panicked and starts to shake Luz who was still sleeping on the ground, causing the oldest girl to wake up.

"Huh? What happened? I was getting an autograph from Azura herself" Luz rubbed her eyes and saw Molly looking at her "Wuz!"

"Molly, what's a matter?"

Molly points at sky "Sky!"

"The sky?" Molly nodded at her

"What's wrong with it? It seems perfectly normal to me?"

"Sky!"

"Yes the sky, what's wrong with it?"

Anne woke up having heard the conversation "I think she's confused about the sky changing color"

Luz looks to Molly "Is that it Molly?" Molly didn't know if they understood what she tried to ask, but she nodded again anyway

"Well Molly, that is called a sunset. The sky does this thing where when it's about to change to night, the sun will go down and the moon will go up. The opposite thing called sunrise is where the moon will go down and the sun will go up, changing the day into morning. The sky does it every day, sometimes either more brighter or less brighter"

Again Molly couldn't understand fully what Luz said, but she did catch the word sunset from her.

"Sunset" Molly looks at Anne "Anne...sunset sunset!"

"I know Molly, I know"

The three of them sit together closely to watch the sunset, with Luz and Anne resting their heads on Molly's.

Meanwhile their mothers are still watching them from inside the house. They actually saw them taking a nap on the ground earlier, but since they looked comfortable together they decided to leave them be.

"You know with the way they act like siblings together, I might actually consider adopting Anne and Molly to be with Luz" Camila joked to her two friends

"Heh, sorry Cami, but I ain’t gonna hand Anne out to you. She's my only child and I'm not letting you take her under your wing that easily"

"Same with Molly, even if me and Pete are probably getting another one soon"

Speaking of Pete, he came back with Mr Boonchuy covered in twigs and dirt all over them. This of course comically surprises the ladies.

"What happened to you two?!"

"We went on a walk though the park-" "-and a horde of raccoons decided to attack us" Mr Boonchuy and Pete explained together

"You two lost to a bunch of trash pandas?"

"There were hundreds of them!" "And we haven't even checked if they had rabies yet! OW!" Mr Boonchuy has one last raccoon bitting him on his behind
