Addison knew she was out of place.
She knew the second her so called friends showed up to her house, tight leather dresses hugging their bodies, plunging V necks leaving little to nothing to the imagination, while she wore a pair of ripped jeans, a Howling Commandos band tee, and some faded black converse. Addison was going to be the designated driver, she accepted that when they handed her a bottle of water, while the rest of them drank directly from a bottle of vodka. "Keys." She spoke quietly, her palm facing up while Charlie smiled, dropping them metal into her hand. "You're the best!" She chided, climbing into the backseat.
Maybe Addison wouldn't even go into the concert hall, she'd be just as content sitting in the car alone to wallow in her pain.
Not only was she knowingly excluded from the group of rowdy twenty something year olds in the backseat, her boyfriend had dumped her for her naivety, not ignoring a friends call when they needed her, bending over backwards for everyone. Even him. Noah ripped her heart out of her chest and shredded it, which is ultimately how she ended up here tonight, sandwiched between a bunch of drunk girls dancing wildly to the music blaring through the concert halls speakers. Nausea had settled into her stomach, hands clasping over her fabric covered skin. The room was spinning, skin prickling, sweat forming on her forehead. She scanned over the crowded room, seeing the sign for the rest room, immediately pushing through her friends without a second thought.
The door slammed open, rattling against the wall as she kneeled down, emptying the contents of her stomach into the toilet of the nearest stall, leaning back against the flimsy plastic door with tears rolling down her cheeks. If the tears were from heartbreak or the acidic taste in her mouth she was unsure. All she knew is that she could not stop the way her body shook with an impending cry had her slamming her hand over her mouth, making her loud cry a mere squeak.
She didn't even hear the bathroom door open, or the boots stopping outside of her the stall.
Natasha had taken notice of the uncomfortable girl backstage, departing from her boyfriends grip and heading towards Addison, Steve not even questioning his girlfriends motives, just flicking his wrist so that his security team would follow her. So when Natasha saw the girl gripping her stomach and making a beeline for the bathrooms, she knew she had to step in. Her knuckles rapped against the outside of the stall, sniffles filling the air as the girl tried to calm her breathing, "I'll be out in just a minute." She spoke through a broken voice, sighing gently. Natasha kneeled down, sticking her hand under the door, "you don't know me, but I know the sound of a broken heart, tap my hand three times if you want me to leave, once if you want me to join in on the pity party," Natasha chuckled shaking her head, "I at least know how to party."
Addison looked at the woman's palm, before tapping her hand once and sliding forward so she could open the door. "I'm Natasha," the red head spoke as she slipped into the stall, locking the door behind her. "Addison," She replied, using her palms to wipe the tears away from her cheeks. "You're too pretty to cry," Natasha spoke softly, leaning forward to wipe the tears away with two manicured fingers, before pulling some toilet paper off the roll, dabbing at Addison's eyes, "who are you here with?" Natasha asked, leaning back on her heels when she dried up the remainder of the tears that fell down Addison's cheeks. "Some friends, although I'm pretty sure I'm just their DD." Addison's voice was quiet, taking Natasha's extended hand when she rose to her feet. "Well now you're with me, and you'll be watching the show from inside the barriers."
Addison smiled brightly, nodding. Apparently the saying you make friends in the bathroom is true.
