Water rolled down the alabaster walls.

Addison sat in the center of the shower, water hitting her body to wash away the sticky residue of the coffee, tears mixing with the streams running against her skin. She hadn't said a word since Bucky placed her on the counter, slowly pulling off the soaked t-shirt. She was in a state of shock, sniffles filling the air, mixing with the noise from the fan in the ceiling. She was numb, she knew that the fans weren't the most fond of her, she understood it, they wanted to protect the man that she was in love with. But she wished she could have their respect, they could have an understanding. Bucky was still theirs, she would never take that away, but he was hers too.

She jolted when a warm and cool hand slipped around her waist.

"Sh," Bucky's voice was calming in her ear, fingers rubbing small circles on her thighs, her head falling back against his shoulder, "I'm here baby, I have you," a kiss to her temple, her eyes falling shut, "I'm going to take care of you, it's going to be fixed baby, I'm going to take care of it," his words were spoken against her cheek, lips pressing to the skin between each breath, "I love you baby, I love you so much, you're safe." Her body melted into his, the dams that kept the tears in her eyes breaking, warms tears mixing with the water once again. For the first time in her life she believed someone, she believed she was going to be safe, that someone was going to actually help her.

"Natasha and Steve are here baby doll," Bucky pressed a kiss to her shoulder when her body tensed up, "they want to be here for you." Reaching forward he turned off the water, cold air instantly wrapping around her body. "Buck, I don't have the energy baby, I just want to be left alone." Her voice was quiet, tears still rolling down her cheeks. "Baby," his hands came up to cup her cheeks when she turned in his hold, bright blue eyes meeting muted flooded ones, "they don't want you to be alone," his thumb ran against her cheek bone, wiping away the stray tears, "let them be there for you, you're not alone anymore."

His forehead pressed against hers when she nodded, a stuttered breath leaving her lungs. "Okay, yeah, you're right baby," she whispered, wrapping a hand around the back of his neck, "I'll be out in a second."

Addison stepped out of the shower when Bucky exited the bathroom, wrapping the thin towel around her body and gripping the counter to stabilize herself. She had to prepare herself to walk into a room of people again and have all the eyes fall on her. Even if they were her so called friends, it was still jarring immediately after what happened downstairs. Their insults still rang clear in her head, producing fresh tears as she bit into her fist to stop the sob from ripping through her chest. A few deep breaths and she was steeling herself, pushing off the counter and slipping the clothes Bucky left for her on her body.

Steam poured from the doorway when she stepped into the hotel room, eyes immediately falling to her and making goosebumps line her skin. "Honey," Natasha's silky voice rolled through the open space, Addison's eyes immediately shifting to her. She could see the look of pity resting in the red heads eyes, and it was like she could sense the words that she was going to say. "Don't, don't say you understand," The words spilled fast from Addison's lips, barely giving herself time to recognize what she was saying, "you don't understand, none of you do."

"Babydol-"

"Stop Bucky, I know you all want to be there for me, I get it, but saying you understand is a lie," a stuttered breath left her lips, hands shooting out to brace herself against the wall, Natasha moving so she could help her, pausing when Addison reeled back like she had been shot, "none of you will ever understand, because they respect you all." Addison turned to look at Natasha, a sharp glare being sent to Bucky when he went to interject. "Nat, you know I love you, but you don't get it, sure they don't love you, but they respect you enough to not hurl insults at you, you also have years of practice for this, you're safe," Addison spun to face Bucky and Steve. "You all don't understand, I left my life, my friends, my job, where I was safe,"
