When they got back to the house where Atreus had a fire ready
Atreus: you guys caught a big one!

Izuku: yeah, you know when I found out that you guys were gods I didn't expect chores

After Atreus and Kratos finished preparing the Deer Izuku joined them
Kratos: how was your rest?
Izuku: it was okay... can I show you three something?
The four went to the back of the house and Izuku was about to show them something when they heard singing
Atreus: a revenant? Here? How?
They all took a battle stance and realized they were surrounded
Izuku: Atreus... you suck at barriers
As they fought the revenant and a few draugrs Kratos grabbed one by its head and slammed it down into a nearby bush
And they heard a loud snap
Izuku immediately realized and ran over
Izuku: no!
Kratos: what is it boy! Are you hurt?
Atreus: what's that?
Izuku: I've been working on this for months... oh jeez the cake too!
Atreus: cake?
Kratos: explain yourself boy
Izuku: today marks the official two years since I came here... so I was working on a painting of the four of us, and I was able to use a couple of runes to make the ingredients for the cake
Atreus: no wonder the revenant came, this thing is full of magic
Izuku was visibly sad and disappointed
Kratos: listen well boy, Nothing ever goes as planned in this accursed world, the longer you live the more you realize that the only things that truly exist in this reality are merely pain, suffering, and futility.
Izuku: but-
Kratos: listen, everywhere you look in this world where there is light there will always be shadows to be found as well, the selfish intent of wanting to preserve peace initiates wars, and hatred is born to protect love. That is a lesson you must never forget

Atreus: are you okay bro?

Izuku sprung awake and immediately grabbed his arm in pain
