Once upon a time, there was a small bird.

That bird was like every other bird—

it had a beak, feathers and wings.

However, in comparison to other members of its species,

it was generous.

No matter how much or how little food it had,

no matter how much or how little food its "friends" had,

it always shared with others.

It collected all the food it could and gave it away to those who may need it.

But.. why?

Why would it do that?

Why would it share with others?

Does it want to garner any sympathy from its friends?

Does it want the others to be in its debt?

Does it not care about its food?

Or... is it just a bird that cares for its "friends"?

You wouldn't know unless you asked it.

And its "friends" certainly didn't.

They simply continued accepting the food day after day.

No matter how little food the generous bird had left, they kept taking.

Spring, summer and autumn it continued.

Then winter came.

Food became scarce.

It could not be found easily anymore.

But that didn't matter to the generous bird.

It kept searching, searching and searching for any food it could find.

Once it found something, it followed its old ways—

it shared, even in winter.

Of course, the others accepted it since food was hard to find and they appreciated any help from the generous bird.

The generous bird's food rations constantly lessened.

Less and less over time.

Until it became completely empty.

Once again, the generous bird decided to go out and search for food.

It searched and searched.

And found... absolutely nothing.

It returned empty handed to its "friends".
