Dance - At Addison's office

It had been quite a day. Surgeries had been successful and deliveries had been great. She had been on top of the world until Bizzy, her amazingly cruel and cold mother, had shown up.

They had been at the coffee cart when her mother had arrived. She hadn't noticed as she was too busy admiring her girlfriend's smile and sparkly eyes. One tap on the shoulder and she turned to find her stiff back mother standing there with pursed lips eying the blonde resident now clinging to her hand.

Bizzy launched into her assault without a care in the world. A string of insults and venomous words were directed towards her and she took them all. She took them quietly, holding onto Meredith of course. Her mother kept at it until the blonde beside her had had enough and said as much. Then the insults shifted from her to her girlfriend, which was where she drew the line.

Nobody, no one at all, was allowed to talk to Meredith the way her mother had tried to. Her submissive facade towards her mother faded and gave way to that wicked persona people had come to fear. The angelic and sublime girl left and in strolled Satan. With her own venomous tongue she lashed at her mother before walking past her along with Meredith, who was grinning from ear to ear.

Hours after, though, as she sat alone in her dimly lit office, her mothers words towards both her and her girlfriend played over and over in her head. It wasn't because her mother had said anything different than what she always told her. It was more the fact that the first time she met Meredith she had spouted off all of her nonsense and dragged her through the mud. Addison had thick skin and usually she'd brush everything off but there were times where just couldn't. Times when she sat alone to brood and sulk, just as she was now.

"If I didn't know any better I'd ask who killed your puppy."

The voice coming from her open doorway startled her out of her trance. She knew the voice already so she didn't even have to look as she let out a defeated sigh.

"Meredith."

"Hi." Meredith chirped and made her way over. "I went to get you juju but the cart was closed. Can you believe it? They actually closed the cart."

"It is 11:30 pm, Mer."

"So?" Meredith challenged and Addison let out a chuckle.

"So they have to go home too, you silly idiot."

"But I wanted to get you juju."

"It's fine. You're here." Addison managed a smile.

"Wow. It's bad isn't it?" Meredith asked and tilted her head.

Never. She could never fool her. Could never completely mask her emotions. Meredith could always tell what she was feeling. She knew her in a way no one did.

"What she said... what she said about you and me and us... it's not... Mer I love you, you know that? You're not some pastime or midlife crisis. You're... you—"

"Shhhh." Meredith shushed, placing a finger on Addison's lips.

"But—"

"I know who I am. And I know who you are. And us... I think—in my most humble opinion—that we are perfectly amazing and perfect." Meredith smiled down at her as she perched herself on the edge of Addison's desk, next to her.

"I know I'm perfect."

"Wow." Meredith chuckled and soon Addison joined her.

The blonde laughed with her but after a few seconds of laughter she started to quiet down once more and looked away. Meredith let out a soft sigh before going to the door and closing it. Addison frowned a bit confused but the blonde only shrugged and made her way to the radio behind her.

"Let's dance." Meredith offered her hand.

"What?"

"Dance with me Addison."

Addison frowned some more but still grabbed the blonde's outstretched hand. Meredith pulled her along and started to sway every which way then jump then shimmy. It was quite funny and soon she found herself following along.

They danced and danced until they were both panting with silly grins and looking at each other. Meredith reached for her waist and pulled her closer. Addison allowed herself to be dragged along until they were basically in the same space. With a smile she trucked errant blonde strands behind her girlfriend's ear.

"Feeling better?"

"Feeling lighter." Addison mused, her eyes drifting from baby blue eyes to soft pink lips.

"I'm glad it helped a little." Meredith muttered her words before launching herself at Addison and kissing her thoroughly.

"So..." Addison began as they pulled away. "Is this what you always do with Cristina?"

"When in doubt, dance it out."

"I thought this was your sacred thing."

"It's different." Meredith grinned. "See, I don't pull Cristina closer or play with her hair." She said as she twirled a lock of red hair between her fingers. "I don't get to kiss her." She continued before landing quick kisses on her cheeks, forehead, and nose. "Not like I want to kiss her though."

"I know." Addison rolled her eyes and giggled. "Mer, thanks."

"For what? I didn't do anything."

"You did a lot." Addison smiled. "Now how about we go home and do what you sorta do with your person."

"What?"

"Dance then cuddle and sleep in each other's arms." She grinned and watched the same grin illuminate in the blonde's face.

"I think I like that."

And then there were 21 and I'm so late but shhhh it's still here. Enjoy! ツ
