Eyeballs - At the cafeteria
George and Alex sat in deep conversation at a table without noticing Meredith coming by just as Alex spoke.
"She's definitely a 10. I might... you know."
"Yeah." George replied before Meredith interjected and asked.
"Who?"
"None of your business." Came Alex's rude reply while George quietly stared down at his plate.
"I do hope you're not talking about who I think you're talking about, Alex."
"And what if I am? I have eyes, don't I? And what are they for?"
"For me to poke out. See this fork?" Meredith twirled the fork in her hand. "It might work rather well."
"Mer, he was just playing." George tried to defend but she shifted her gaze to him.
"You can be quiet too."
"So vicious. Like a b—" Alex started.
"Finish the sentence, I dare you." She snipped in dead calm and both Alex and George looked away.
"You guys ok?" Addison said as she stood close behind Meredith. "You look like you've seen a ghost."
"Nah, they were just talking numbers." Meredith smiled and kissed her cheek, which was still new but felt great.
"Numbers?"
"Just man-child stuff. You know."
"Ok well, Karev, you're with me."
"Is he really?" Meredith grinned at Alex.
"Yep. Anyway, see you tonight?" Addison asked with her own smile and Meredith nodded.
"7 o'clock. Alis."
"Good... alright let's go Karev."
Meredith waved at the redhead and just as Alex was passing by her she whispered, "Remember the fork and the eyeballs."
