Makoto looked over to Haru. He was watching the ocean as they walked by. It had been two days since Rin outed them. This was the first time the best friends had been alone. Haru snorted.
"What?" he asked not taking his eyes from the sparkling water.
"We haven't talked." Makoto said. Haru shrugged.
"You're with Rin, I'm good with that." He said.
"Are you, Haru?" Makoto smiled in his knowing way.
Haru tore his eyes from the water. He looked down at his feet. Actually he didn't know how he felt. Seeing Rin take Makoto's large hand, the smile spread over his face, the way Makoto blushed and just looked to Haru for what? Acceptance? Haru hadn't really said much.
It was Sosuke who all but pounced on the red haired swimmer. He ruffled his knuckles through the maroon hair. "You and the big man. Who tops?" he laughed shoving his friend away.
"How did it happen!?" Sosuke had laughed. He looked up, then seeing Haru and Makoto just staring at each other.
"It's was mutual." Makoto answered Sosuke but his green eyes never left Haru. Even when Haru turned his head away.
"It hasn't been long." Makoto told him.
"Nah, only since I've come back to Japan. Haru was busy with extra practices and well, Makoto and I met up one night." Rin said.
"We went out to eat and just catch up." Makoto went on. Meanwhile, Haru just stood starring out the window. He felt alone for some reason.
"We started drinking. Then talking about all of our friends over the years." Makoto went on. There was something wrong with his voice. Haru could hear it, yet he couldn't bring himself to look away from the rain.
"I straight up asked him what it was between you two." Rin stated.
"We are brothers." Haru whispered. Makoto had smiled then even if the other man didn't see it.
"That's what I told him." He smirked as Rin rolled his eyes. Sosuke went to Haru. He was a little awkward with the whole comforting his boyfriend thing, but he took Haru's hand. It was cold. It shouldn't be that cold.
"Haru, are you ok?" he had asked. Haru blinked looking up into the teal eyes.
"I brought Mackerel. I came to talk to you, but um, well the shop was there and they always have good mackerel." He answered.
"Lets make dinner together." Rin cried. He snatched the bag from Haru's hand and went to the kitchen. Sosuke snorted.
"He sucks at boiling water." He had said. Haru nodded. It was like he was on autopilot. He followed Rin to the kitchen.
"We didn't do this to hurt you." Rin said opening the fish. Haru began to gather up stuff to cook with.
"I confessed that I liked guys that night." Rin told him. "Makoto asked how I came to that conclusion. We started talking about it and, um, well, he asked me to kiss him." Rin whispered.
"I really liked it, but we didn't do anything that night. We met up a few days later and talked some more. Damn he can talk." Rin chuckled.
"I'm not upset." Haru had told him.
"We are still friends." Rin stated. He grabbed Haru's shoulder spinning him around to look at him.
"Look, you and Makoto have this connection that no one understands but the two of you, and that's great!" Rin smiled at him. He pulled Haru into a hug.
"I'm not going to take him away from you." He whispered in the others ear. Pushing back once he felt the little taps of Haru trying to comfort him, Rin grinned.
