Katherine's pov
I remember going to that stupid party years ago with Billy. To spy on homelander. I'd flirt with the prick and Billy would try and get dirt on the assholes. That time was the first time homelander made a move on me. Billy came and introduced himself to homelander as my boyfriend. We weren't together but it made homelander back away but I can see that subtle calculating rage.

"Get a load of that" Billy says snapping me out of my thoughts. I huff seeing Hughie with Annie. Stupid kid. He asks me "what are they doing?" "Fuckin" I reply and add "her eyes went off like ice princess did with the guy without his penis" he curses "fuckin idiot" "he likes her. Maybe he's right about her. We won't ever know until we find out" I sigh. "What do ya hear love" "she wants to know shit about Hughie" I answer. "What's he sayin" he asks. "That he quit his job after robin. He's lying to her. No red flags" I reply. He nods and I add "he feels bad I can tell"

Homelanders pov
Here I stand in front of pictures of the people I'm after. My beloved vampire is there. Katherine. She's still alive. She's going to pay for cutting my child out of her and mailing it to me. She's mine. That body is mine. I glare at her husbands picture and think of ways I can prove to them both that she's mine and she's going to have my kid. No matter what. I call a train and we have a meeting. "Lately some of you have been a little out of sorts. Erratic, unreliable. Downright sloppy. Not you Noir youve been great. But the rest of you, it's fair to say I am disappointed. Gotta keep your eye on the ball guys, the enemies are storming the gates, I mean we're not even the seven anymore we're down to five. We're dropping like fucking flies and we have yet to locate and get the vampire. But atleast now i know why." Pulling up the pictures.

Starlight asks "why...is this a joke, why is Hughie up there?" Maeve asks me who he is and I say "this guy is Hugh Campbell. He and starlight are going steady. He's also one of the guys who killed translucent. Well....from the looks of it Katherine the vampire did it and he and others were there" "wait what?" Starlight asks confused. "As well as blackmailing Mesmer. Ezekiel. Popclaw. God knows who else. My theory is that our little vampire was told by her ex husband not to deal with it. Which is good for us leaves a trail"I continue as starlight denies it and a train asks "popclaw?!" I tell her "sticks and stones won't break my bones but words" "no sir. I'm sorry I wasnt. It's just, he's not...why would he do that" she starts

I state "good question. A train over to you" "what?" He asks and I huff "oh boy that little egg of yours still scrambled huh? How about now" showing them the full picture of Hugh and him shaking hands. A train curses "I know this guy." I nod "well you did smash through his girlfriend. So I should hope so. Robin something or other" he tells me "I remember now I've seen him outside Popclaws place he was all in my face. You're fucking this guy" he snaps to starlight at the end. "I don't know what's going on but Hughie is not capable of anything close to this." I nod "that is true actually but what if he was helped...say someone got him in to see Ezekiel. And got rid of the deep." She denies it. She raises her hands and I show her my laser eyes "keep those hands down by your sides missy. Sit down" I snap.

I note that the seven is down by two because of her shit with the deep. I also note outloud that it started to happen when she came along. I tell her to shut the fuck up in anger. Maeve comes to her aid shortly telling me she didn't know. I point out how nervous she is. "The only thing she's guilty of is being fucking stupid." And tells me she fell for hugh and he's pumping her for information. I turn to Maeve "wow starlight you must be something special. Hmm? I can't remember the last time Maeve gave a shit about anyone really." Maeve hits me with the it's your and me shit. I don't want her I want Katherine.

"She's your responsibility now. I want my fucking vampire though. Take her and that group is weaker than ever."

Butchers pov
Here we are in the safe house eating food. She's been out of it all day. Deep in thought or haunting memories. Hughie walks in and the girl wants to know where he was "that's a compelling fucking question." I say. He asks us if we can talk "isn't that what we're doing?" She asks and he says "no I mean-"
I cut him off "there ain't no secrets here son. Spit it out"
