A fortnight goes by since the first night that Liana and Anakin shared together. The weeks blend together in a whirlwind of romance and summer sun as Liana falls even harder for her Jedi protector. It's impossible not to, with the way he longingly kisses her or makes sweet love to her anywhere he possibly can. Meanwhile, the Padawan is completely enamored with the blonde beauty and simply can't help but adore her, and certainly cannot get enough.

One early morning before dawn, sweet summer breezes flow in through the balcony windows and into Anakin's room. The sheets around Liana's body are silky and smooth against her skin. Anakin's strong arm is effortlessly wrapped around her waist, keeping her close to him. Liana softly shifts under his embrace so that she can see him.

It's still dark outside, yet just enough light from the moon and stars filter in for Liana to admire him. Anakin looks like a meticulously designed sculpture with his perfectly structured jawline and soft lips that are just barely parted as he continues to sleep. His thick lashes hide his deep blue eyes while sandy locks of hair tickle his gently furrowed brow.

Suddenly, Anakin begins to toss and turn in his sleep, his brow contorted in concern.

"Ani?" calls out Liana, reaching out and placing a hand on his cheek. Her touch seems to jolt him awake as his dark eyes shoot open, immediately landing on her.

"Did you have a nightmare?" she questions after a tentative moment.

"Jedi don't have nightmares," he counters, his chest rising and falling. "Or—they aren't supposed to, anyway,"

"Do you want to talk about it?" Liana asks kindly.

Anakin shakes his head in disagreement before crawling out of the comfort that is his bed. Liana's bare body is still twisted up in the sheets, a remnant from the night before.

She watches worriedly as he steps out onto the balcony in only his gauzy pants. His back muscles are impressively on display as he leans against the railing of the balcony, watching as the first slivers of sunrise break into the sky.

Liana hesitates for a moment before pulling herself from bed and slipping her nightgown on. She then pads over to Anakin, who is staring deeply into the sunrise. His deep golden skin is aglow as rays of sun begin to shine through into the morning sky. She soothingly places a hand on his broad back, running it up and down his musculature.

"I just wish this could be my life forever, Liana," Anakin sighs, tearing his gaze from the sky as it lands on something even more stunning.

Liana looks ethereal in the light of dawn, her cerulean eyes glittering and hair a curtain of gold. Anakin's breath hitches lightly in his throat as he gazes over her figure in the silky gown that leaves little to his imagination.

"Who says it can't be?" Liana counters, stepping forward into his arms.

"Don't you remember on the ship, when I told you, Jedi aren't permitted to form attachments?" he says gratingly.

"Well yes, but you said—"

"It doesn't matter what I said!" he interrupts, frustration in his tone. "If Obi-Wan found out, I—I can't lose you. I've already broken Jedi code, I'm attached to you with all my heart,"

"And I to you," she insists. "We'll be okay, Ani. We'll keep things discreet. Nobody will know,"

"Nobody will know,"  he echoes. "But I wish that they could—I want to show you off to the entire universe. Let everyone know you're mine, and mine only,"

Liana laughs, a harmonious sound. "Maybe someday,"

Anakin pulls the Princess closer to him, wrapping her in his arms. Liana places her head against his chest, listening to his steady heart beat, like a drum.

"I'll notify the servants that we're awake so we can have breakfast," Liana declares, unraveling herself from his arms.

Anakin nods in agreement and strides back into the room before pulling on a linen shirt. Meanwhile, Liana grabs her thick robe and slips it on over her nightgown to maintain some modesty. She catches Anakin staring and gives him a cheeky smile before slipping out the door.

Anakin's nightmares grow increasingly common, and Liana gets used to her lover jolting awake beside her. She then takes her time to soothe him before they can finally fall back asleep.

However, this early twilight, Liana wakes up on her own. She gazes over at the handsome man beside her, and for a moment, Liana lets her thoughts wander. She imagines the perfect life with the Jedi, where they have numerous beautiful children and spend their days in the Naboo countryside, eating sweet fruit and splashing in the lakes. They have endless picnics with rich wine, and make love in the tall grassy meadows.

Yet reality comes creeping back, demanding its presence to be known. Suddenly, Anakin's brow contorts, and his body begins to thrash about. Liana jumps up into a sitting position as he cries out in his sleep.

"Mother!" he gasps in fright. "No!"

Liana realizes she is still completely bare, and grabs her dress from the floor, slipping it on before cupping Anakin's face with her hands.

"No! No!" he cries.

"Ani! Wake up!" she calls out. "It's just a nightmare, wake up!"

Anakin continues to panic within his sleep until Liana places her hands upon his chest. His blue eyes shoot open as he instantly sits up, his bare chest heaving. His golden skin has dew drops of sweat collecting on it.

"Ani, are you alright?" Liana worriedly asks, peering at her lover.

He shakes his head, unable to formulate any speech.

"I saw my mother,"

"I heard you call for her," Liana says softly from beside him.

"She's suffering, Liana," he insists, sitting up more in bed and placing his head in his hands. "I saw her as clearly as I see you now,"

"She's in pain," Anakin tells her. "I can feel it,"

"Do you think your dream is true, then?" Liana wonders. "Can Jedi see reality in their dreams?"

Anakin shakes his head in confusion. "I don't know,"

Liana frowns, placing a tentative hand on Anakin's arm in an act of reassurance.

"Come here, please," he urges, opening his arms. Liana gravitates toward his embrace, allowing Anakin to hold her tightly.

Anakin gently runs a hand up and down her arm as he stared up at the ceiling. Liana allows her eyes to grow tired once more as she places her cheek against his chest.

Come morning, Anakin is nowhere to be found.
