(A/N I'm aware that some of the Divergent filming took place during the winter/ fall but in this story it will take place during the summer. That's the only way the plotline I have envisioned in my head will work.)
Today is the day of the first table read. The actual filming begins in two weeks, so all of the cast members that are going to be in the first few scenes have flown down to Chicago, including, obviously, me.
This movie will take about three-and-a-half to four months to film. Begining now, in May, and ending in late August. I've never done anything that's taken so long to film except for Golden Boy, so this will be a new experience.
The guys and I have been hitting the gym for the past week to get in shape. I wasn't in bad shape before, but I defiantly wasn't up to the Four Standards.
Neil and I decided that we wanted Four to be pretty buff. He has to be someone who looks kind of scary; people need to have an actual reason to fear him. He can't be this skinny-ish, little British dude, but at the same time he can't be too buff to the point where it looks fake or like he's on too many steroids or something.
We're currently all staying at a hotel building that has been rented out specifically for the cast and crew. Every major cast member has a room, all of us taking up two floors. There is also a third floor where the directors, producers, and some other people working on the film are staying.
I still have yet to meet some of the cast members since I was casted so late and didn't make it to the cast party. I've meet most of the major characters; Shai, obviously, Ansel, Miles, Kate, Jai, and some others. Some people I won't be able to meet until they come in to film which, for some people, won't be for a while.
Most people only have to be here for the few weeks that they have scenes, but Shai and I are being troopers and staying the entire time.
I'm looking forward to being able to spend the summer with the cast. I didn't have any major planes this summer, anyway, but now I do.
From what I've seen of the cast, they all seem like really nice people. Nobody seems to serious where it's at the point where we can't have any fun. Everybody takes it easy and doesn't take life too seriously.
We also all seem to have the same, sick sense of humor. It makes it easier knowing that we won't judge each other and we can all be stupid without being made fun of.
Hopefully nobody will be added to the cast that will mess up the general flow of everything .
"Theo, decided to finally show up, did you?" Neil asks as I walk into the room where we are all going to be having our first table read. I look around and realize that I'm the last person the arrive.
The room itself is fairly big. There is a large, dark oak table in the center with chairs surrounding it.
Along one of the walls there is a table with some refreshments; coffee, water, various pastries, and, what looks to be, some assorted chocolates.
I walk over to the table, sitting in between Miles and Shai, and set my script on the table.
We got the finished script a few weeks ago. We were all told to read through the first few scenes we're going to be filming, the scenes we're going to be reading through today.
"Yeah, sorry I kept everyone waiting." I say apologetically.
"You didn't really. I just got here a few minutes ago, don't worry." Shai says reassuringly.
"Okay, so if everybody's all set, I'd like to start off reading page 46." Neil says.
We all flip to the page. I notice that most people, including myself, have certain lines highlighted and some notes are scribbled in.
"Even though I'm sure you're all aware, these two scenes are the scenes where Tris is standing of the roof of Dauntless, jumps into the net, and meets Four for the first time. All of the initiates are very unsure of their new faction. They just had to jump on and off of a train, jump onto a building, and off a building into a net after all." Neil says to everyone playing a transfer. He then looks at me. "You're suppose to have been here for a while, you have a lot of experience. You're also very wary of the new teenagers that you're going to be, shall I say, babysitting for a while. Make sure you seem threatening, so people won't want to mess with you and cause you trouble."
"Okay, Jai, your line." Doug says.
"Alright, listen up! I'm Eric, I'm one of your leaders. If you want to enter Dauntless, this is the way in. And if you don't have the guts to jump, then you don't belong in Dauntless." Jai starts.
"Is there water at the bottom or something?" Ben Lloyd- Hughes asks, the guy playing Will.
"I guess you'll find out." Eric continues.
I watch as the rest of the cast finishes that scene, waiting for my lines to come. The scene they were rehearsing ended with Tris being brave enough to be the first person to jump into Dauntless.
"Okay, Theo, you start off this scene." Lucy says, once they have finished the other scene.
I look down to my script, finding the first line of the scene. My line.
"What, did you get pushed?" I say, my American accent in use.
"No." Shai says back, trying to make Tris sound nervous and shy.
"What's your name?" I ask.
"It's, Bea...." she starts.
"Is it a hard one? You can pick a new one if you want, but make it good, you don't get to pick again."
"Uh, okay, my name's Tris." Shai continues.
"First jumper, Tris! Welcome to Dauntless."
We finish off the scene, ending with Zoe Kravitz insulting my character's name, and my character scaring her. We run through the script two more times to make sure we all have our lines memorized for when filming begins.
After we finish practicing Shai, Miles, Ansel, Jai, and I decide to go to a local restaurant where we grab dinner. I spend the rest of the night with the cast; telling each other about our lives, getting to know each other better, and becoming fast friends.
I can tell this is going to be a great summer filled with some great people.

Sorry that this chapter stunk so much. I wrote it during the intermission of this play I was at.
Also, I'm sorry that I didn't update in a while. I had gotten sick and ended up missing school, resulting to a lot of makeup work and stuff.
I'm going to try to prewrite some more chapters so I don't miss this Friday's update again.
The next chapter will take place a few months into filming, I think.
I hope you all enjoyed this story and if you did feel free to rate and comment.
Also, please check out my second story 'Divergent- No War'. The title pretty much explains what it's about.
I hope you all have an amazing day and.....
Be Brave,
Maddie
