Nessa

My name is Nessa McLaren, I'm from Dublin Ireland, I'm in love with photography, I just finished my study in New York and decided that I wanted to spend my free time in Dublin. My best friend and room mate Andi finally invited me over for Christmas since my family is busy taking care for grandma they can't have me in the house. It sucks, but it's the way it is. I get it, grandma is all alone and ill for a long time so she needs it, and I'm happy to give it to her, it's only that I won't get to see my family on the holidays, that never happened before. Lucky for me I have Andi. Who needs to hurry up otherwise we would miss the damn plane.

'Jesus how long do you need to get your suitcase', I said once we were sitting in the plane, just in time. 'What I had a lot of stuff, we are coming on time, no worries', Andi said. 'Are you sure that your family is okay with a non-family member present?', I asked. 'Of course they are, my brothers and sisters are thrilled to meet you, girl I am tired already, you mind if I sleep?', Andi asked. 'No, I have perfect entertainment for my dvd player', I said grabbing my dvd from The Script, live at the Aviva stadium. I was actually there, front row. Best concert ever. I saw them live like 6 times. I kept asking if Andi was related in anyway, but she wouldn't ensure any questions when it comes to family. I feel like I've known her my entire life, but then again I don't. Andi is a very private person. I however, I am an open book.

After hours we got off the plane and I still hummed a song from The Script. 'Can you please stop singing that, it's stuck in my head', Andi said. 'What's up Andi, you don't like my singing, I thought that at one point you said I should go on The Voice, hahaha', I said laughing. 'You on The Voice, I feel sorry for the coaches', Andi said. We both laughed because we both knew that I couldn't sing a note in tune.

We got into a cab and drove to her house. 'Holy shit, that is big, you got a freaking pool!', I said. 'Hey, it's raining 360 days a year in Dublin girl, you know that', Andi said. 'Oh right', I said dissapointed.

A woman came out of the house running towards us and hugged Andi so tight she nearly choked. 'Mum, can't breath, Jesus Christ', Andi said. 'No just your mum, oooh Nessa dear, so glad to have you, call me Ailish, make yourself at home, the guestroom is all ready for you', Ailish said. 'Thank you for having me over for the Christmas times, I know that those days can't be easy if you have so many family members together', I said with a smile.

'Mandy!', Andi said smiling as she hugged her sister tight. 'Hey girl, ah you must be Nessa, I hope you survive these days, if you can do that, you are a part of the family for sure', Mandy said hugging me.

I wasn't used to all this love around. Not that I didn't loved my parents or other family members, but the fact that they didn't make room for me for Christmas, it still hurt a little bit.

Andi's other family members Dara and Vicky. Then there was an older brother named Ian. It was a warm family. 'The only one missing is D...', Andi said. I hummed Before The Worst. 'Would you please stop that', Andi said annoyed. 'Sorry, it's stuck in my head', I said. Andi rolled with her eyes. I sang a little from The Man Who Can't Be Moved. 'D should be here soon, he promised he would be here on time', Ailish said. 'That would be a first', Andi said.

'Cool you guys have a piano, who's the one who playes it, is it you Ian?', I asked. 'No, I'm afraid it's my little brother, do you play?', Ian asked. 'Only songs from The Script, those I want to learn', I said with a smile. For some reason Ian smiled too.

I played a bit of the song Breakeven when I heard Andi opening the door. I wasn't paying attention since I was extreamly busy with my piano play. I went back to the kitchen to see if Ailish needed help. I helped her carry the plates, still singing Breakeven. 'So, who is singing Breakeven, I thought we had a rule, no songs from The Script in the house', I heard. I recognized that voice. I looked up from setting the table and my jaw dropped and I dropped a plate that broke into a million pieces. 'Fuck', I mumbled.

'Let me clean that up, you guys get to meet', Ailish said with a smile. 'Hey new girl, you must be the best friend from Andi from Uni?', Danny asked. 'That... that's me. D stands for Danny', I stuttered. 'No one told you about me?', Danny said with a flair from dissapointment. I shook my head. 'Sorry Danny, you know I don't', Andi said coming from behind me. 'I take it your a fan', Danny asked. 'Massive, I've been to The Script concerts 6 times, included The Aviva', I said. 'No way, it never occured to you that I might be related to this one there', Danny asked. 'It did actually, I asked her a couple of times, she didn't really told me anything, that explains the jaw dropping', I said looking filled with shame to the ground.

'I'm sorry about the plate Ailish, you get a new one from me', I said. 'Don't be silly girl, if I was in your shoes, I would have done the same thing, Andi girl, you can tell your best friend who your little brother is, next time it happens, she will be prepared', Ailish said. Andi grinned. 'Sorry', she said to me. I could never stay mad at Andi.

So it happens that crazy ass fan me sat next to Danny O'Donoghue during the dinner. 'Hey I didn't got your name', Danny said. 'Nessa McLaren', I said with a smile. 'Nessa, well Nessa, I hope you live trough this', Danny said with a wink. 'Don't wink at her, she will faint in front of your eyes one day', Andi said. 'Andi... please don't', I said with shame written all over my face. 'What, something I need to know, Andi inlight me please', Danny said. 'Nice Andi, real nice', I said but I smiled.

So first chapter. Welcome to the O'Donoghue family! Hope you like it so far. Not sure how it turns out. I simply start writing and then I see if it's a good story or not. Don't forget to vote and comment.
