Friends With Benefits (Danny O'Donoghue)

Chapter 2

Danny

Andi brought a friend. Well that is a first. It was well known that she was shy when it comes to family. She didn't want fake friends, she wanted real friends. I can't help it but feel a little hurt everytime that she found out that she had made another fake friend when she told that person who I was. It was sad really. Andi is an amazing person, my best friend. I can tell her everything and she tells me everything.

'Dan... don't walk around half naked okay, we have a guest', Andi warned. 'Since when do you care about that', I said with a wink to Nessa. She blushed, which was really cute. 'Hey Andi, are we going Christmas shopping tomorrow?', Nessa asked. 'I can't, I know I promised, but my boyfriend wants me at his place tomorrow', Andi said.

Yup Andi has a boyfriend right here in Dublin, they are boyfriend and girlfriend for 8 years. I don't get how she loves the guy, it was a long distance relationship, those never work out. Apparently Andi is happy with it, I think she deserves better than that dushbag.

'Aaaaw, well okay then', Nessa said disappointed. 'I can go', I said suddenly. 'Really? You hate shopping', Andi said. Thanks a lot Andi. 'I need to do my Christmas shopping too, I haven't found the time, in case you haven't noticed, I'm a busy man', I said with a smile. Andi rolled with her eyes.

Nessa

Well I'm going shopping with Andi's brother then. Cool. I went to bed since I was tired from the flight, a bit of a jetlag. I was going in early and soon I heard everyone else going to bed. First I need to listen to The Script songs. I put on The Energy Never Dies and danced around my bed with a fake mic in my hand I sang along. 'Oooooh... because the energy never dies', I sang. But I had my ears in and had no idea that Danny was actually in my doorway until I almost fell against him by dancing too weird.

'Eeehm, how much of this did you saw or heard', I said slightly embarrassed. 'Enough', Danny said and he jumped on my bed and layed down for a minute. 'What's on your mind?', I said laying down next to him. 'Your into photography right, so much you made a whole study out of it', Danny said. 'Yes', I said not knowing where he was going with this. 'What's it like, to have a normal life?', Danny asked. 'Besides from boring, you have no time to date or think about it, Andi is lucky she has her boyfriend, even though he lives here in freaking Dublin', I said. 'I never cared much for education you know, I dropped out', Danny said. 'Regrets?', I asked. 'No, but I can't help but wonder sometimes, you know... how things would have been if I finished school', Danny said.

'Dan are you not living the dream then?', I asked. 'I am... don't get me wrong, I am living the dream, it's just such a different life than most people have, sometimes I want what everyone has, friendship, love, making mistakes, do them all over again', Danny said. 'We can be friends, if you want', I said carefully. 'Yeah... we can be friends, your Andi's bestie, I feel that I can trust you, like I've known you forever, I feel I can trust you', Danny said. 'You can Dan, on one condition... I can be a fan of The Script right', I said with a smile. 'Shut up, of course you can, friends', Danny said holding out his hand. 'Friends', I said with a smile.

'Now as a friend I can say move over a bit would you, I want to sleep,  I am super jetlagged', I said as I pushed Danny on the other side. 'I'm staying here, are you cool with that?', Danny asked. 'Sure, no problem, I am sleeping though', I said nuzzling against his chest. 'You sleep, I sleep, perfect', Danny said.

I woke up next to Danny that morning. Yup, still felt a little bit unreal to me that he wanted to be my friend, looks like we both needed it. 'Jesus Christ Andi, you scared the shit out of me', I said when Andi was standing in front of my bed. 'What are you doing with my brother?', she said. 'Nothing', I said. Danny woke up and robbed his eyes. 'Hey Andi, nothing is going on here, we are just friends, I just couldn't walk to my room anymore, to tired', Danny explained.
