Chapter 21

Danny

The perfect person who you never thought you would met. That person of mine is a beautiful woman named Nessa McLaren soon to be Nessa O'Donoghue. New York and Boston were the end of our tour, after that we had nothing planned for a while. Maybe do some stuff for the radio or something. But nothing really big since we were so busy with our tour. Nessa was an amazing photographer, since we both loved having a camera in our hands she and I were both taking pictures. From each other, from things we liked. Memories to take home with us. She used the camera I bought for her for last Christmas. Booom. I can feel a song coming up. Something with Christmas, camera's and a ring. I quickly wrote down the key words so I could mix it into a song later.

We flew back to Dublin to tell our parents we were going to get married. Mine were easy. Nessa's parents however not so easy.

We printed out the photo's first so we would have something to bring too my mum to show her what we saw and how we were. She was going to love those photo's. She kept looking at her ring like it was going to break. She softly lifted up her hand and robbed my cheek. How could I deserve such a woman as her. So sweet. Gentle and so smoking hot. There was no one that was more beautiful then she is.

We arrived at house O'Donoghue. My mum was thrilled to see me again. Nessa and I were going to stay at my place after. Because I was only for the holiday at my mums house, okay, confession... I am still a mamma's boy. I realised that in the way I cared deeply and still liked living at home for a good holiday.

'Mum', I said smiling at her. 'Oh my Gosh you came, Andi is with Glen's parents. But you came... oh I'm so happy you guys', she said. She hugged me tight and I nearly choked. 'Sweet Nessa, how are you darling, I'm so happy you came', my mum said. 'We are very happy to be here, but we are only staying for today, not overnight, because I haven't seen Danny's home yet', Nessa said with a smile. 'True, but you at least stay for dinner right the girls are on a holiday', my mum said. 'So what's was it on tour...', she asked. 'Really good, we saw a lot of America, that was for sure. The crowds were amazing mum, cheering my name and Nessa came to every show. We took city trips together. It was amazing. But... would you please sit down, because we have news we would like to share with you mum, we want you to be the first of the family to know this, besides Andi, but she knew because she was with us', I said. Nessa smiled at me and squeezed my hand. 'So... we wen't in New York to the cinema, all of us, Mark and Rina, Glen and Andi and of course me and Ness, but instead of the usual light sign were the title from the movie stood there was a question on it', I said. 'What did it say?', mum said surprised. 'It was for Nessa to ensure', I said and I squeezed Nessa's hand so she could jump in this conversation. 'I said 'yes', she said with a smile and she holds up her engagement ring. 'You asked her to marry you?! Oh my God, I am so happy, Nessa you were already like family to me, but now I get to call you my daughter in law', my mum said and she hugged the both of us, squeezed us to death. 'How romantic Dan, when did you asked?', my mum said. 'The day we've met, so before Christmas time you know, thought I would make a romantic gesture', I said with a smile. 'You did baby', Nessa replied on that and she kissed me on my cheek. 'I have one question for you Ailish, since you are more of a mum to me then my own is, would you like to walk me altar?', Nessa asked. 'I can't believe you just asked me that, of course I would love to do that', my mum said hugging Nessa. Her turn to get squeezed out like a lemon.

After my mum we went to her house. To announce to her parents that we were going to get married.

Danny and I had done the easy part. Because let's face it, Ailish was easy. Sweet woman, such a great mum also to me. I love her. We rang the bell from my house. My mother opened the door and looked surprised. 'You... it's been...', she started. 'A year mother, I better call you by your name because you are no mother to me, but I wanted to tell you my happiness since I am proud enough to say that I've found it', I said and I pushed my way inside with Danny.

'Wait... were is Anna?', I asked surprised as I saw my nan in the kitchen. It was a surprise how she could last that long. 'Were is 'he', I said referring to my father. 'Anna! Come downstairs now, your sister is here with that guy from The Script, that band you like', my mother said.

Anna came downstairs. 'One is still missing', I said. 'Your father, he is dead', my mother said. 'Wait what? How and why didn't you tell me?', I asked. 'He killed himself, left a note saying he couldn't handle things anymore and that what happened between you and him was eating him alive, the guilt was too much for him, he shot himself two moths after you left', my mother said. 'You haven't called! WHAT KIND A WOMAN ARE YOU, YOU DARE TO CALL YOURSELF A MOTHER, AND YOU DARE YOURSELF TO CALL A SISTER, HOW CAN YOU, YES WE HAD OUR FLAWS AND FIGHTS AWFUL ONCE, BUT DEATH! HOW COULD YOU REFUSE ME TO THE FUNERAL, HE WAS MY FATHER TOO!', I yelled angry. 'Calm down, look I believe you now okay, about dad', my mother said. 'OH NOW SHE BELIEVES ME, YOU HEAR THAT DANNY, THIS HIS THE FAMILY YOU MARRY YOUR WAY INTO, GREAT MOTHER IN LAW YOU GET, I SAY WE CUT TIES NOW WITH THIS PART OF THE FAMILY. 'Wait, you are getting married with Danny O'Donoghue?', Anna said surprised looking at my engagement ring and then too Danny. 'Yes, I wanted to tell you all this, but I guess this family doesn't share anything anymore, so Anna, you might hoped he would be your ticket to fame or whatever, or your famous brother in law, but he is never going to be that, when we ever have kids, you both don't come near them, that is a promise', I said. I grabbed Danny's hand but he stood still. 'I can't believe that this family is throwing away family like trash, I stand by what I said last time. I with I could say 'it was good to meet you', but that would be a lie', Danny said and he put his arm around me. 'Don't ever search for me, I make sure Danny's agent blocks all off you, you are no longer family from me', I said icy.

Finally outside. 'Are you okay baby?', Danny asked worried. 'Yeah I'm fine, these people are nothing to me baby, let's find our own happiness with real family', I said. 'Sounds good to me', Danny whispered.

A long chapter this time. I felt like I had to do something with Nessa's family. Wow, her mother and sister forgot to tell her that her father shot himself because of what he did to her in the past. What kind of family do you have then right? What would you do, cut ties with that family or try to make it right. But it looks like Nessa's mom doesn't make any effort to try... her sister Anna same!
