I heard loud booms and people screaming. I felt the ground under me shake a little.

All I could see and hear was Keith on top of me. He was laughing maniacally while bombs were set off in the streets, along with our childhood home.

I tried to push Keith off of me, trying to grunt my way out from below him, but he just kept laughing.

"Alright, alright, I'll let you go. I need to get going anyways," Keith smirked.

Keith got off me and I immediately got up and headed for the door. I could care less where Keith planned on escaping to. My mind was somewhere else. I had to find him. I had to know that Loid was okay... or I'd never forgive myself for the things I've said to intentionally hurt him.

As soon as I got out of the study, I ran down the stairs. I stopped in the middle of the stairway and gasped. Smoke was filling the air, there were small fires in random areas of the foyer and the rest of the house. Dog body parts all over the place. Family members lying on the ground either dead or knocked unconscious. But where the fuck was Loid?

I continued my way down the stairs and coughed my way through the screaming crowd of other family members who weren't injured by the bombs. Pushing people out of my way. Turning people over by the shoulder, checking to see if they just happened to be the person I was looking for.

Please. Be alive...

"Everyone out! This way," I heard a voice say.

I turned around to see a man guiding people towards the back door exit before the whole house became full of smoke.

It was...

"Loid!" I yelled, trying to get his attention. Coughing because of the smoke.

Loid turned around and saw me.

All of the screaming was eventually drawn out. I only wanted to hear one thing right now. Loid's voice.

Loid and I rushed over to each other and eventually met in the middle. His worried eyes pondered over me as he took hold of my shoulders, examining me to see if I was still in one piece.

"Are you okay?!" he asked.

I couldn't move or say anything. The feeling of relief overflowed my body, making me too stunned to do anything in the moment.

Or maybe it was something else...

"(Y/N)?! Where's Keith?" Loid snapped at me, trying to zone me back in to reality.

"He's gone..." I said sadly, squeezing on to Loid's biceps.

Loid sighed. He seemed disappointed.

I began to cough some more because of the smoke.

"Let's get out of here," Loid said. "It isn't safe here."

Loid grabbed my hand and started leading me to the exit. And that's when I saw him... my little brother.
