"You're home!" I exclaimed, watching Loid open the door to the apartment.

"Chi chi!" Anya shouted excitingly as she ran up to Loid with open arms.

Loid gave Anya a big hug and kissed her forehead, "How was your day, my sweet girl?"

"Good! Mama let me feed baby brother today!" she cheered.

"Is that so? You're already becoming such a great older sister," Loid smiled, patting Anya's head.

Loid finally walked up to me and gave me a kiss, then gently grabbed our son from my arms and snuggled him.

"Dinner's ready. Take a seat," I said excitingly, pulling out his chair so he could sit.

"What are you excited about?" Loid smirked, taking his seat at the kitchen table.

"Well... after teaching me your ways of how to properly cook an exceptional home cooked meal, I finally found the courage to do it all by myself," I said, hurrying to the kitchen to get his plate.

"Oh? What did you make?" Loid said curiously.

I sat the plate in front of him and his eyes widened.

"You made filet mignon?" he said surprisingly. "Is it edible?"

"Oh hush, just hurry up and take a bite," I chuckled while cutting him a couple of pieces as he carried the baby.

I fed Loid a piece of the steak and he gagged.

"Oh my god does it actually taste bad?" I said, beginning to panic.

"I'm just kidding," Loid giggled.

Loid closed his eyes and slowly chewed on the steak, letting the flavors marinate into his mouth. He slowly swallowed and nodded his head, finally opening his eyes.

"Quite exceptional," Loid smiled. "Thank you. It's very good."

"You're welcome. I learned from the best, chef Loid Forger," I said while booping his nose.

"That reminds me... I never told you my real name," Loid laughed.

"It's fine. I don't care to know. Let's forget about the past and focus on the present," I smiled.

"Of course... I love you," Loid softly said, looking into my eyes before taking another bite of his steak.

"I love you too. Always," I said back.

I watched as Anya enjoyed her meal with a side of peanuts, giggling at her cartoons that displayed on the tv. I watched as Loid enjoyed more of his steak, snuggling our baby boy in between each bite.

I couldn't help but just smile and stare.

For once, everything seemed normal. For once, I wasn't questioning anything in my life. For once, I felt loved by my family.

For once, I felt genuinely happy.
