Marco's P.O.V.
"Omg I'm so excited Marco!" Star said excitedly as we walked home from the bus stop. "I can't wait until my first dance. What are they like?" Star had only been on Earth for a few months now, and in 2 weeks, we will have the end of the year dance. Apparently they don't have dances in Mewni, so she couldn't wait to go.
"Dances are really fun. You hang out with friends, and dance. Students also ask other students to go to with each other."
Star's eyes widened. "Ooo, are you gonna ask out," Star leaned in close. "Jackie?" She whispered.
My face turned as red as a tomato. The thought of even talking to her gave me chills. "Yeah. And I assume you'll be asking out Oscar."
"Yeah," she happily sighed.
After that she spent the rest of the walk staring into space. I didn't try to get her attention, because now I was caught up in my own thoughts. How was I going to ask Jackie to the dance? She is way out of my league. She is a beautiful, popular, awesome girl, and I'm just a reckless nerd. She's definitely gonna say no, she barely even talks to me. Yeah, no. Maybe I won't ask her to the dance. But who else would I ask? Why does everything have to be so complicated all the time?
Star and I arrived home. After I greeted my mom who was in the room, I started my homework, while Star was practicing some of her magic spells. "Of course," I said quietly to myself. "Star has a wand. She could just put a spell on Jackie, and make her fall in love with me." At first I thought it was kind of wrong, but I had no other choices. Nothing would be more humiliating than getting turned down by the girl I've had a crush on for years. "Hey Star," I said, but then realized that my mom was in the room. "Can I quickly talk to you privately."
"Yeah, sure Marco."Star's P.O.V.
I was still super excited about the dance. I was basically bouncing all the way up to my room. Marco wanted to talk to me about something, but I didn't know what. He seemed kind of nervous, and I was wondered what exactly he wanted to ask me. I sat on my bed, and asked in my usual upbeat tone, "So what's up?"
"Well," he paused. "Will you let me borrow your wand to put a love spell on Jackie so she will fall in love with me and go to the dance with me?" He said quickly. I sat there for a second, surprised that Marco wanted to do something so outrageous.
"No," I said seriously.
"Why not?" He sounded slightly disappointed. In Mewni, one of the things my parents taught me when I was younger was about love. Love should be natural, and shouldn't be forced. If Marco put a love spell on Jackie, it would be wrong, and unfair to Jackie.
"No." I said again.
"Please," he asked.
"No," I wasn't going to bulge.
"Please please PLEASE," he sounded like a 5 year child. I realized that if I kept saying no, he wouldn't stop asking. Also, I would never want to hurt Marco, he's my best friend.
"Fine," I sighed. "I'll get the spell book, and see if there is anything I can do." I was slightly worried. I knew this probably wouldn't turn into anything good, but Marco was so happy now, and it made me smile. "But first, I'm gonna quickly call Oscar and see if he wants to go to the dance with me."
"Thanks Star," he put his hand on my shoulder. "I really appreciate you doing this for me."
"Yeah yeah," I pushed Marco out of my room, and closed the door. I went to go sit down on my bed when I heard a knock on the door.
"Star, I think you'll need this," Marco handed me his phone.
"Oh, pfff thanks." I quickly grabbed the phone from him. I closed my door, and walked to my bed. "Now to call Oscar."(Sorry there's not really much Starco yet)
