Chapter 7

Marco's P.O.V.

Tonight is the school dance. I've been waiting for this dance all year. In my fantasies I went to the dance with Jackie, but she's going with Oskar, and I'm going with Star. The last few days had been the weirdest emotional rollercoaster of my life, and I've had some time to think. I know that this whole thing with Jackie isn't going to happen. She likes Oskar, and even though I still heartbroken about it, I'm sure one day I'll get over it. If Star were here, she could help me get over Jackie. Thankfully, I know how to get her back. I'm going to have to kiss her. I've been thinking about that kiss, and thinking about her all night. I've been lying awake in my bed, playing a movie in my head about how it would all go down. I decided that the best idea would to go and kiss her right now, so we could go to the dance together and have a good time. I stepped out of my room, and walked across the hallway and knocked on Star's door.
"Star? Can we talk for a second?" I asked in a somewhat flirtatious voice. It was kind of awkward, I mean we LIVE together. I heard footsteps, they were slow, but rhythmic. The door slowly opened.
"Sure hot stuff," Star said with had lidded eyes. She didn't look tired, it looked like her awkward attempt to flirt. "Whatever you need."
This was it, this was the moment I was going to kiss Star. I kept telling myself, this is for her, you are going to break her out of this spell. 1... I put my right hand on her shoulder, and my left hand around her waist and pulled her closer to me. 2... I closed my eyes, and started leaning in. 3... Right as our lips were about to collide, I felt something else on my lips.

Star's P.O.V.

Did Marco just try to kiss me? So does he like me, or is he just trying to break me out of this spell? Maybe both? I don't know, it's probably him being the sweet and caring Marco that he is trying to set me free. So why am I not free? Why didn't we kiss?

Marco's P.O.V.

I opened my eyes, and saw Star's finger pressed against my mouth.
"Not yet sexy," she said. Star took her finger off my lips, but lingered her finger against my bottom lip, dragged her finger down, and released it, letting it bounce back to me. "I want this kiss to be special, I was thinking we could share this moment tonight at the dance? You know I've been fantasizing about this kiss for the past three days, and I want this kiss to be a moment to remember, to be in a place we will remember."
I looked at Star. Even in this wired state that she was, she still looked so beautiful. I was okay with waiting for tonight, it would still be awkward, and even more so if she forces me to kiss her in front of everyone. I just nodded, walked back to my room, and started to get ready for the dance.

Hey guys! Sorry I was so evil, and didn't let them kiss in this chapter. Also I'm almost done with this book. The next chapter will be the last chapter. And after I'm done with this story, I probably will be taking a break. :( *sheds tear* Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut... A small part of me wants to write some Steven Universe, so I might be doing a Steven Universe one shots thing. If you watch Steven Universe great! Can you you guys give me some requests of what you want to read? If you don't watch it (I highly recommend it ) or if you don't like Steven Universe don't worry. You can still give me other recommendations of what you want to see me write. I might not get to it WRITE AWAY (lol that was a pun) but I'll still keep your requests in mind.
