Chapter 3

Marco's P.O.V.

There were only 3 days until the dance, and I still hadn't put the spell on Jackie. But today was the day. I saw her sitting by her friends, she was probably talking about the dance. I was kind of terrified, what if it didn't work? What if I accidentally make her explode? It had to work though. And chances are I probably won't make her explode. I hid behind a bush where no one could see me. I was praying that no one would see me because if they did I'd look like a huge creep. I had the wand in my hand, and the spell book right in front of me. I looked at my watch. It was about 3:00. I don't know why it was important, but I just needed to know what time it was. "Here goes everything," I said to myself.

Star's P.O.V.

I was pacing back and forth in my room. Mrs.Diaz let me stay home today because I faked a cold. I knew Marco was going to put the spell on Jackie, and I couldn't bare to go and watch it. I knew the love spell was wrong, but I couldn't hurt Marco's feelings. When you have a love spell put on you, you aren't you anymore. You look the same, you talk the same, and you have all of the same memories. But the love spell takes over your body, and the you that you used to be is trapped, and you can't do anything. You can only see what is going on, but you can't do anything about it. That is why I didn't want Marco to put the spell on Jackie. She wouldn't know what was going on, she'd be scared because she wouldn't be able to move. The spell also wares off after a few days. Once the spell wore off, Jackie would hate Marco forever. I should have told Marco this. I looked at the time on Marco's phone. It's only 2:45, school didn't get out until 3:00. If I ran I could still make it. I darted out of the house, but made sure Mrs.Diaz didn't see me. Thoughts flowed through my head as I ran. I couldn't let Marco put that spell on Jackie. I'd go to the school, and tell Marco everything. It'd be as easy as that. I just hoped he'd understand. I was almost at the school, I could see it. As I arrived the school I saw a whole bunch of students hanging out outside. Jackie was also outside talking to her friends. Marco had to be around here somewhere, but I couldn't find him. All of a sudden I saw something peaking out of a bush. That must be Marco. I darted over towards him.
That's when I heard him. "Here goes everything..." There was no way I could get to him on time. A crazy idea popped into my head. Marco said the spell. "Aut te amare."
I saw the beam of magic go towards Jackie, so I ran and jumped towards it, blocking Jackie, and letting the beam hit me.

Marco's P.O.V.

"Aut te amare." I said it. I peaked out of the bush, to see Star jumping in front of Jackie, to get hit by the beam. Oh no. Things are going to get really weird.
